Why are the kids wearing the masks?
Is that from the book or did they borrow it from Strangers.Seemed kinda corny and contrived.

shareNo, it’s 100% definitely not in the book. Couldn’t agree more with how corny it looks.. I’m a huge fan of the novel and the 1989 movie. The ‘89 movie was very faithful to the book. Faithful to the point where there’s not really much left to add in a remake - so seems there going to make up “new” things...aka cheesy kids in masks etc..
shareThe masks suck and are definitely not in the book. But they made way worse changes than that if you've seen the new trailer. Somebody wanted to make a creepy mask movie and didn't care about the source material at all.
shareAs someone whose never seen the first show (rated pretty low from what I recall) or read the book, looked interesting enough with the masks. They seem to represent the animals, I mean why call it 'pet' sematary without them representing them in some form amirite?
shareHope you love it. I really don't care. It was a great book. It was a great movie. It was a million years ago. If it wins over new audiences, more power to em. I was not needing more Pet Semetary in my life. This movie isn't made for me.
shareIt was a great book and movie, that is why I really wanted them to change up the story. I've seen the original plot play out too many times for it to be entertaining at all in a retelling.
That being said, I'm not sure this film is going to be good. As you have mentioned the masks are not effectual, and there are a bunch of dumb spots in the trailer.
The wendigo screwing with the characters outside the burial grounds is good but I hope its not bringing back zombies willy-nilly, they should still have to be buried first. I also liked the look of the woods but it's pretty hard to screw up creepy woods.
