Dogs only die in bad movies

Think about it...

No dogs died in "Must Love Dogs" and that movie was just plain dreadful.

Add Dead Calm to the list.

Yeah, I have to disagree with the OP.

Dances with Wolves (Ok, it's a wolf, but it's still a canine)
Old Yeller
Where the Red Fern Grows
Turner and Hooch
Eight Below

I liked all of those

A few good, some great, movies that come to mind where dogs died: Old Yeller, My Dog Skip, To Kill A Mockingbird, 30 Days Of Night, The Thing, and let's not forget Jaws!!!

I just saw American Gangster and a dog died.

I Am Legend with Will Smith. Heart wrenching scene.

Holy mother *beep* ! - Carl "CJ" Johnson (GTA San Andreas)

Agreed. That scene was so heartbreaking.

I have no idea what to put here...

Actually I'd like to point out that in most bad movies the dogs usually survive. In really stupid scenes like the one in Independence Day when there's a huge explosion and the dog jumps away just in time to live. There's a whole bunch of bad action movies like that.

One of the dogs in the pound gets put down in Lady and the Tramp.

Some of Zaroff's hounds get killed in Hounds of Zaroff.
