Dogs die in a whole lot of movies. My S.O. is a dog person and he hates it. It seems like a lot a dogs are getting shot, run over, or karate-kicked in movies. Then again, humans don't have it much better, especially in horror movies.

Rigid rules make for bad movies. Anyone who says that 'such-and-such only happens in a bad movie' is a part of the problem. Context is everything...

EDIT - and yes, since your reappearance I have realised that you were being playful, but the dog dies in this film, and it was great - so your little postulation was over before it started anyway. Nyah!!!
