Think about it...

Halloween
A Fish Called Wanda
Cujo
Turner and Hooch (I liked it)

Vacation

bonniethecollie thinking about the dog dying and how it was the mans only friend makes me sad lol. I won't watch movies where dogs die. Too sad. This board is making me sad as well, except now I know not to watch them.

8 Below. Never saw it, doubt it was that great. But dogs still die I've been told.

I know there are lots of freaks in the world but don't all the nuts roll downhill to IMDB! -- Trshr

My Dog Skip?

Hopelessly in love with Uma Thurman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Emmy Rossum

reply

yes i love huskies but i wont ever see eight below again. those dog deaths really got me. i never wanna see them again

reply

8 below was good I thought

And dogs also live through a lot of bad movies, despite everything. Independence Day for instance. And what's wrong with a Fish Called Wanda?

edit: Also, the dog died in Wonder Boys, and admittedly, I never saw it the whole way through, but I liked the parts that I saw.

Lemon curry?!

I think the dog died in Leon (The Professional) and also Grindhouse.

As for turtles, I thought My Blue Heaven was pretty good.

I haven't killed a man since 1984

what about Bones, that awesome movie with Snoop Dogg. Or was it called Bonez?

reply

Two more things.

The Thing. Couple dogs died there.

Cool Hand Luke. The guy shot a turtle.

Cabaret is a great film, and a dog definitely dies. This proves your theory wrong.

reply

"Eight Below" was a great movie.

"Are you watching closely?"

reply

Here's some disproof: Old Yeller, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and while you're at it, head over to plot keywords, punch in dead dog and see how many classic and well reviewed films come up.

reply

Its amazing how easy it is to start a heated debate over such a silly statement....

Admittedly Cool Hand Luke does in fact negate the Turtle argument.

reply

Okay; so we've established that this statement doesn't work for dogs and turtles, but maybe it holds true for goldfish?

That might be a winner, right there.

EDIT - Aw crap; The Omen again! Never mind. Keep searching for animals that fit...

It's made from bits of real panther, so you know it's good...
