two scottish actors playing cowboys Hmmmm?

the truth is that I love both Liam and Pierce and I couldn't wait to see this. Overall it is a good movie(slightly disapointed with the ending)

but as much as I love Liam and Pierce..I still found it rather odd that hollywood cast two scottish actors in the role of cowboys? Is there a problem with American actors? I mean I think George Clooney would have been great in Pierce's role and Gene Hackman in Liam's role

what say you?

do you find it strange that they cast two scottish actors in a western?

Scottish?Irish?..what's the diffrence, they should of used proper English actors in this film to potray proper cowboys in this period.Only the English became proper cowboys in America.

If it's already been posted, I apologize. However, large numbers of settlers of the Southeastern U.S. were in fact Scots-Irish or Scotch-Irish which is more an American term than Scottish or Irish. After the U.S. Civil War many migrated West looking for new opportunities.

Both of my great grandfathers were cowboys in the Oklahoma territory about the time this movie was set. One grandfather was from Ireland and the other was from Scotland. They made their way west and I'm sure they both spoke with accents.

Where do you think most Americans came from? You don't think white people in the US just sprung from the ground right?......bloody colonials.

What's the difference between Irish and Scots anyway? They're both drunk Englishmen with ugly accents.
