why did this movie flop????

I just don't freaking understand it. Now the chance for a sequel is slim. I can't believe Clash of the Titans is getting a franchise but not this movie. Even The Last Airbender has a greater chance for a sequel! That's just wrong

give it a 10 on imdb!

Some angry "Persians" refused to watch this film. It was/is a great action flick.

This movie undoubtedly flopped, making less than half the budget domestic and doing ok overseas does not make it any less of a flop.

The movie flopped because it's a video game adaptation, casual audiences are not that interested and players won't like the changes made to their game.

Plus video game adaptations tend to be really bad and don't capture the feel of the game. The big mistake here was spending 200M on the movie, they should have spent half of that.

An R-rated 200 million $ Disney picture DOES NOT HAPPEN! And how exactly would it have helped the film financially?

reply

I dont know either...love it. Easily one of the really god ones from the past 5 years.

what I don't understand is why you and so many others seem to think it flopped... where are you people getting this info from?
Because the FACT is,it grossed $336 million and is also the highest grossing movie that was adapted from a video game, EVER... yes, even more then all of the resident evil movies. The success of this film is also the reason for Ubisoft, the video game company which owns PoP, God of war, assassins creed and more, creating and starting their own studio company. They plan on adapting more of their video game titles... I SERIOUSLY don't think i'd call that a "FLOP".

I absolutely agree with you and I can't wait for a Assassin's Creed movie. Also God of War was created by Santa Monica Studios owned by Sony and not Ubisoft.

reply

Ahh i see, thx i guess i just assumed Ubisoft created god of war. Assasin's Creed would make a great movie, i think they should do it now, now that the Borgias TV show is out there.
