I know it is an easy paycheck for him but, if I remember correctly, he dropped out of the follow up to Batman Returns because he didn’t want to do the film without Tim Burton directing and I’m sure he was offered a lot more money for that film than the Flash. Granted he didn’t have to do nearly as much work in the Flash movie as he would in a regular sequel.

shareBecause he wasn't playing the titular character, so no pressure to live up to any expectations, and because so much time has passed since he originally played Batman, the character would no doubt feel a lot more fresh and is probably way more fun for him as an actor to play, and also it's a nice gesture to honour long-time fans.
