Did you feel sorry for Andy?

When Andy illegibly tries to rape her again in the janitors closet did you feel bad when she basically blinded him? I know what he did was terrible and he was abusing her but she could deff damage him forever...i felt bad even though what he did was HORRIBLEEEEE

what do you think?

The original poster said "...she could deff damage him forever..."

He damaged her forever too.

reply

You're dumb. I dont think nothing ever bad happen to you, so you dont care about the people who were hurt. Instead, u feel sorry for the offenders.

Also, WTF? How could you feel sorry for him?

he would have done it to her again if she didnt fight back. that stuff she used to 'blind' him was her defense. if i were her, i would have done the exact same thing, she wasnt gonna let him rape her again.

Katieboom_13, obviously you never got raped and I pray something like that will never happen to you, but I can assure you that a person cannot go over it, even with treatment, you carry it your whole life.

When Andy attacked Melinda in that little room there was no time to think. She was clearly in inferior conditions. I don't think he wanted to rape her again, but probably to give her a beating, and she freaked out. In the struggle he could have killed her by accident, cause I don't think he would have WANTED to kill her, the same way I don't think Melinda's intention was to blind him. If you check the movie carefully you will see she took the first thing that was at hand. It was that bucket and there was another bucket attached to it. She hits him with the bucket on hand and the other sprays the liquid. Her intention was just to hit him. She didn't know if the buckets were open or not, or what contained.

reply

your still an idiot to feel sorry for a rapist.

reply

no. he deserved worse.

The mirror doesn't look like them, I guess it never will...

reply

No. She blinded him in self-defense.

He had no remorse for what he'd done and was going to continue hurting people. It was kind of sad in general that he was such a broken person and that she'd been hurt by him, but I also felt happy that she finally got a little justice.

reply

I agree with you, if Melinda hadn't spoken up, he'd have probably raped Rachel, at least when he put his mouth over hers when she was yelling at him because he was talking to Melinda, I could see that he liked to overpower her, just like he did with Melinda.

I've read some stuff about rape, and it's rarely about sex, it doesn't matter if the guy can get it willingly, he wants to exert his dominance over his victim, and this guy didn't even seem to feel the tiniest bit of remorse for what he had done. So it was quite possible he would just go on to do the same thing over and over and over again.

The thing I hated was that Melinda didn't say anything in the beginning, I know it's practically the whole plot of the movie, and the book, but I think it's very important that people know that with these kinds of things, it's better to speak up when it just happened, get to a hospital ASAP, get a rape kit and get the animal, no that's actually insulting animals, the MOSTER that did it! It's very hard to get a conviction if time has passed, there's no real physical evidence that it happened.

I personally did NOT feel an ounce of sympathy for this man, I think he got off easy, I was partly expecting Nicole to slap him across the face with the hockey stick handle! Just so he could stop whining.

Did you feel sorry for Andy?

Nope.

reply

well, was he the one who got raped? nooo.

so i guess the answer would be a definite No.

e.e. cummings style!

reply

I did actually. What he did was just unforgivable, but he's got problems in his life I'm sure. Blinding someone in high school is gona make their life hard for the rest of their life.

reply

Excuse me, but do you really think that Andy was blinded permanently???

I do not. Granted, Melinda did splash some sort of cleaning solutuion in Andy's eyes which, in my opinion, caused a temporary blindess, a condition which I doubt was total blindness, but once his eyes were washed out and treated medically, his vision would return -- maybe a little blurry at first but soon it would be back to normal.

reply

Yeah, so does raping someone, Bhm22.

And who cares if he's got problems, there isn't a problem in the world that will justify what he did. She can act 'normal', but the damage has been done, and though he's been (maybe permanently) blinded, there's no way that'll come even close to the psychological trauma he put her through.

So for the question of do I feel sorry for him:

Never in a million years.

reply

He totally deserved it
I know this may sound a bit one sided but what her did to he and then to came after her with all that bull *beep* and to try and attack her like that, he deserved it
And I also thought they were gonna bash him the hock sticks, they really should have

And on another note, he also damaged her forever, I mean she has to remember that for the rest of her life, it doesn't just go away, so if he's blinded forever, maybe it will make him think about what he did

reply

If someone tries to rape me I would do anything to defend myself, and yes, if I carry a gun I would use it. Too bad for my rapist ...

reply

Oh, please! She could get over the "permanent damage". It maybe traumatizing, but I value my sight more than anything.

Clear-What the *beep* are you thinking?
Skate Rat-I'm thinkin', suck my junk, bee-yatch.

reply

Obviously you have no idea what it's like to be raped. It's called PERMANENT DAMAGE for a reason. I'd rather have lost my sight than be raped multiple times. You haven't got a clue.

reply

Yeah I don't think you would say that if you had ever actually been raped. You must be one of those sick people who don't think rape is possible because she was "asking for it". You disgust me and frankly people like you are a waste of oxygen. Die in a fire please.

reply

He deserved more than what he got. If i was face to face with a man I know did that to someone I know I would fight him. If the person is evil enough to do something like that and scar someone for life, i think they should die.

honestly, how could a person live knowing they did that.

reply

Sorry for him!!! yu gotta be kidding me!! she has suffered so much and her grades got screwed, she is scarred for life..
he dares to come after her the second time and says,he doesnt even find her tht attractive and stupid *beep* like tht..and tries to hurt her..if she hadn't threw whtever liquid tht was into his eyes, god knows wht he wud have done..

he fking deserves every bit of it..and obviously more ...he dint even care if she had gotten pregnant or if she is alright..

Don’t judge me based on your ignorance
