Did you feel sorry for Andy?

When Andy illegibly tries to rape her again in the janitors closet did you feel bad when she basically blinded him? I know what he did was terrible and he was abusing her but she could deff damage him forever...i felt bad even though what he did was HORRIBLEEEEE

what do you think?

Maybe she did cause him permanent damage. Whether or not you think so, having raped her, he caused her permanent damage first. I felt zero sympathy for Andy. None.

I'm glad she did that to him, and if I were her, I'd scratch his eyes out...!!!

Not at all, he got what was coming to him.

Did I feel sorry for Andy? You're right she could have damaged him forever! Almost like if she would have raped him! You know, taking away, the trust, happiness, virginity, and leaving nothing but pain, horror, and afraid to be herself. Man, poor, poor Andy. How rude of Melinda to do that to him!

When I saw this board, I felt sick. How could I ever feel sorry for a rapist? I was raped a few years ago when I was still a child and unless you have been raped, you know nothing of the lifelong pain rape comes with. I wish I had been strong enough to fight and protect myself like Melinda did. So no, I could never feel sorry for Andy, I think he deserves more for what he did to Melinda.

no i definitely did not feel sorry for him. the way he violated her could have physically and psychologically damaged her forever, and he did it for pure, selfish pleasure. what she did was out of self-defense, when he attacked her a second time and couldn't done even more potentially permanent damage to her. he was in no way a victim. he totally asked for any sort of damages he received.

Have people who sympathise with Andy forgotten the fact that Melinda was backed into a corner in a tiny room with no way to escape? Andy is practically a foot taller than her, do people really believe that she would physically have been able to overpower him and get away? Obviously not. Plus the last time she was alone with this guy he RAPED her. She was going to do anything and everything in her power to protect herself, even if that meant causing temporary or permanent blindness. It was a natural instinct, not something she thought about.

Sorry if someone said this already, I didn't feel like reading the 10 pages of posts.

I love the irony of Andy losing his sight. He got what he deserved. I can see someone feeling sorry for him if he was remorseful in the least, but he was about to rape her and possibly kill her in the closet.

I don't fel bad for Andy at all. He is a monster and he deserved what he got, i mean i don't know if he was just being a jackass, but those bits when he was nice to Melinda, and he didn't even seem to know or care that he raped her, i wanted to bash him over the head repeatedly with a cafeteria tray.

And i know this is a bit off topic, but i play hockey, (field hockey, not ice-hockey) and whenever people get into fights on the field, they always thrown their sticks down and go at it with their fists (i play on a womens team aswell) i just don't think that many people realise that they have a potentially fatal weapon in their hands, i just think thats funny. So when the hockey team opened the closet, i was like 'bash him, bash him, please, just once'

Thank-you muchly

was he binded permanently or just temp?

I felt absolutely no sympathy for him whatsoever. If you'd been Melinda, and he was about to assault you once more, when he had already done so, what would you have done? I would have done exactly the same thing. I'm not about to let a guy rape me, AGAIN, just because I think I'll feel bad for maybe blinding him afterward. The physical AND emotional pain that Melinda suffers is by far worse than the pain Andy would have to suffer.

So, in summary, no, not at all. I wish she had taken a hockey stick from the team and hit him repeatedly until he blacked out and was barely breathing.
