I dont know if this has been posted before but anyways, mine are :Brad Richards,Vincent Lecavalier,Martin St.Louis, Nikolai Khabbibulan (sp?),Ruslan Fedotenko ,Pavel Kubina, Fredrik Modin,Scott Gomez,Rick DiPietro,Alexander Ovechkin,Brian Gionta,Eric Perrin
Okay, in terms of Ovechkin and Crosby, it's not even close. Ovechkin is not only better than Crosby, but Ovechkin could have been a star at any point in the history of hockey. He's tough and he can take the body. Crosby would be good in the old NHL, but no one in the league benefits more from the fact that you aren't allowed to touch anyone anymore.
That being said, I have to agree with the person before who brought up the fact that, even if you hate one of them, the entire sport benefits from the perceived "rivalry" between the two of them. And God knows the sport needs some national attention. It's just annoying that in the United States, sports analysts only talk hockey if it concerns one of those two guys.
I'm 21 years old and I've been watching the Flyers religiously for about 11 years now. There's no one I loved more than Mark Recchi, he played the game the way you were supposed to. But these days, I would have to give recognition to Mike Richards, Braydon Coburn and Scottie Upshall. Outside of the Flyers, I love Dion Phaneuf, Marion Gaborik, Patrick Marleau, Ilya Kovalchuk, Alex Ovechkin, Rick Nash, Nick Lidstrom, Jere Lehtinen, Ales Hemsky, Ben Eager, and Jonathan Toews.
And while I would never admit this to anyone in person, I really really like Martin Brodeur.
Chris Drury, Scott Gomez, Henrik Lundqvist, Brandon Dubinsky, Henrik Zetterberg, Nikolas Lidstrom (how can you not love this guy? Class act through and through), Rick Nash (absolute beast. I wish he got more respect, but I guess thats what happens when you play for a bad team), Eric Staal (extremely underrated), and Jarome Iginla (once again, class act).
First, my favorite team is the San Jose Sharks. (on the Sharks): Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau, Dany Heatley, Joe Pavelski, Dan Boyle, Logan Couture
As a good sportsman, I have to give recognition to these players outside my favorite team: Jonas Hiller, Craig Anderson, Nicklas Lidstrom, Jonathan Toews, Shane Doan, Adam Foote
Couldn't even walk onto the plane after some games in the playoffs, yet would lead the wings and gave everything to his team. He's a true inspiration and a personal hero.
