Why didn't they get Rashida Jones to play Lois Lane?

I mean, she looks virtually like a young Margot Kidder. It's especially puzzling considering that Bryan Singer was trying his damnest to ape Richard Donner's 1978 movie.

Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane has to be one of the worst casting decisions ever for a superhero movie.

At the time, rumor had it that every name actress in Hollywood turned the role of Lois down.

Maybe Jones was one of the actresses who read the script and decided they had better things to do.

Parker Posey could've been Lois in this movie instead of Kate Bosworth, who was miscast as Lois, she was too young 22 years old at the time and has none of the elements that other actresses brought to the character, she doesn't have the big dark eyes that Margot Kidder, Teri Hatcher or Erica Durance and she doesn't have the tough edge that they have.

What made Margot Kidder's interpretation unique wasn't her "sex appeal". Kidder gave Lois a fragile, demure, and innocent quality, while also possessing a small degree of grit. She also possessed the ability to switch from confident, feisty, intrepid reporter to wide-eyed, wondering girl that just wants to believe.

If you ask who Lois Lane should've been ideally Rachel McAdams.

Kate Bosworth is probably one of those actresses where anything she's in people don't like her character at all or just don't care about her.

Kate Bosworth is a bland boring actress and is a small skinny girl, she doesn't have that spunky wild eyed quality that Margot Kidder, Teri hatcher or Erica Durance have.

Rachel McAdams would have gotten my vote for a 2006 Lois.

Courtney Cox would have gotten my vote for a 1996 Lois.

Those women are Lois Lane not Kate Bosworth or Amy Adams, Kate Bosworth was way too young, Amy Adams was too old and sweet, none of them have that tough edge that other Lois Lane actresses have and what Courteney Cox and Rachel McAdams have.
