This one is really good and so is Jack and Ennis. I like the ones where they're together for a long time and then something bad happens that shows how in love they still are.

My favorite though is, Wesley and Buttercup. He came back from the dead for her!

reply

Wesley and Buttercup were hawt.;)

Lizzie & Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)
Rhett & Scarlett (GWTW)
Anne & Gilbert (Anne of Green Gables)
Anne & Captain Wentworth (Persuasion)
Harry & Sally (When Harry Met Sally)

These are just some of my favorites.

reply

thank you! finally, by the 3rd page, someone mentioned an epic love story- Gone With The Wind!!!

reply

LOVE LOVE LOVE Rhett and Scarlett. It's epic and tragic and romantic and everything a true love story should be.

-Oh and a childhood favorite thrown in there. Anne and Gilbert. He wanted her from the beginning but she just wouldn't have it, would she?

-And I love anything by Jane Austen.

reply

the notebook is def. the best. but a walk to remember, titanic, and breakfast at tiffany's were also great true love stories.

We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on.

reply

Rhett and Scarlett (Gone with the Wind) NUMBER ONE!
Noah and Allie (The Notebook)
Harry and Sally (When Harry Met Sally)
Romeo and Juliet naturally
Jack and Rose (Titanic)
Landon and Jamie (A Walk to Remember)
Lizzy and Mr Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)
Tess and Angel (Tess of the D'Urbervilles)
Peter and Anne (Diary of Anne Frank)
Holly and Fred (Breakfast At Tiffany's)

and how could we forget...Rachel and Ross!

These should be added:

Margaret and John (North and South 2004)
Emma 2009
Before Sunrise (and Before Sunset)

reply

Bit of a random one but for me - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Thats true love... you can erase them from each others memories and they will still fall in love all over again...

reply

I love that movie. You can take away the memories but not love.:)

reply

Those are really great love stories but I was just thinking how can there be a greater love than Noah and Allie shared in The Notebook, I mean, I love this movie mostly for the parts between the old couple, knowing (or not knowing) that someone is there ONLY for you despite of how much it hurts him, going through all that pain just to see you at least one more time, at least for a few minutes. In this world of hatred and pride it's truly a miracle to have something like that. Sorry if I'm a little melancholic but I just finished watching the movie and I'm still very sad.

Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall: For a love story that is much more than "happily ever after" or tragic deaths, check out a relationship that transcends time in the "Outlander" ("Cross Stitch" in the UK) series of novels by Diana Gabaldon (not to be confused with the current Outlander movie). Hopefully someday soon these incredible novels will be successfully portrayed on screen.

Jack and Rose <3

"Can I take your name please love. Dawson, Rose Dawson."

Well the greatest love story is The Passion of the Christ

but for romantic love I would say

Darcy and Elisabeth
Rhett and Scarlett
Rose and Jack
Allie and Noah
Hawkeye and Cora
Sydney Carton and Lucie Manette(long overdue for a well done remake)
Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester

reply

Edward & Bella??
