was there anybody who didn't cry??

Was there anybody who didn't cry?? I mean i really cried my eyes out at the last half hour or so. The way she does her speech at school for her grandfather even though he's not there and she's trying soooo hard and at the end with the whales...
And I NEVER cry when watching a movie. I watched it (thank god) alone, cause i was so ashamed haha. A day later my parents also watched it and even my dad (!) had to cry and i've never seen him cry and i know him for 18 years haha ofcourse my mom also cried but she can't even hold her tears when watching Dawson's Creek.

By the way: I really liked this movie alot!!

i was *this* close to crying, because pai's relationship with koro really hit home. having to put tradition first. all of these themes really echoed when i was growing up, and i guess they do in all close-knitted cultures.

I didn't, I've seen the bit where she gives the grandfather speech before, and I cried my eyes out, I didn't cry this time because I was interrupted..by Tesco shopping...

My god, this movie was SO INTENSE, I've just watched it and I'm stunned. It was.... whoa... I haven't seen such a moving film for long time now. It's even equal to Lars von Trier's Dancer in the Dark and that's the saddest movie I've known till now.
I'm completely blown by it... what a beautiful masterpiece!

How could one not cry watching it?

Ahhhhhhhh, I loved it...

Wait till you see King of Masks. More intense still, better acting and no synthesizer music. All that with superb photography (if you get the letterboxed version) and a much more believable grandad character. Only trouble is that you'll have to read subtitles unless you understand Mandarin. Believe me. It's worth the effort.

PS: I also really liked Dancer in the Dark.
