Here is a link to the same promo that Dark Chocolate mentioned, but without the writing in the middle of the screen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_gHbW4QRTc - although according to some chatter I've read it is a promo for an OVA coming out in January 29, 2010 called "Black Tetsusaiga".

After watching the trailer, it seems there will be only 26 episodes to finish the series.
So a lot of stuff won't be included from the manga and I have the feeling they'll just focus on Naraku's storyline.

Since the 1st episode of Inuyasha: Final Act is now available, I have a question regarding this episode especially on how did Hakudoshi died... or rather sucked into Miroku's hand? Is it different from the manga story?

reply

It is essentially the same as what happened in the manga.

Yes. Hakudoshi died the same way in the manga. I was suprised he died in the first episode. I thought it would be a little later on,they must be rushing through this new season quick because Kagura dies next

Yeah the coming attraction for next week sure doesn't look good for Kagura, now does it, one way to be as free as the wind is to . . . . . .

Overall I thought it was great episode. Nice re-introduction for almost every character and it didn't seem forced or contrived in anyway. We jumped right into the action and with some touches of humor, good pacing.

What does evreyone think of the opening and closing songs/sequences?

It's kinda sad that it feels so fast...but I'm just glad they're animating the end of the manga. :D

It's a good thing that Kagura became somewhat of an ally of Inuyasha and his friends towards the end of her life. Her death scene was beautiful but sad

reply

I am so happy for Kagura that Sesshomaru was there with her. Their exchange was so bittersweet. I thought Kagura was a great character and they gave her proper and classy send-off. It nice to see Sesshy has a heart, no matter how hard he tries to hide it - so Spock of him, lol.

Oh and if I was Kagome and I found out that Inuyasha had deliberately not told me why he was so keen on staying behind, in order to meet up with his old dead girlfriend, he would sure be in deep "sit" with me.

I'm a little dismayed by how quickly they're running through the events of the manga - the most recent episode compressed some three different manga chapters, including one that actually happened well after Kagura's death. It's working okay so far (although I would have liked to have heard Narita Ken deliver Sesshoumaru's "Whether her death was in vain or not is for me to decide" line) but if they keep doing this, things are going to get really rushed.

Since they are playing loose with the manga's order of events, perhaps they will work that line in at a later time.

Abbykat you got your wish! Sesshy says that line in this episode.

I didn't really like this episode seeing as to how it focused on Shippo. He's my least favorite!

Still not impressed with how they're rushing things. The kitsune exam should simply have been dropped since it doesn't contribute anything to the plot, and Mujina and the Dakki - which do contribute to the plot, albeit as a lead-in - should have been an episode to themselves. Either way, it's silly to name the episode Meido Zangetsuha when that was, at best, the episode's C-plot. I'm happy that Sesshoumaru got his line after all, but really.

I really liked that they let Sango feel-up Miroku for a change , it was sweet when he told her that when she needs him, he is there for her. I agree that naming the episode after an episode subplot that seemed to be second thought was almost a bit of false advertising.

"Shoot them. Shoot them both."

reply

I'm glad the kitsune exam wasn't dropped as in the last chapter, it is revealed Shippo kept taking the exam and progressed in a better rank. Otherwise, this poor Shippo wouldn't have any plot for the end!!!.

The events are so rushed that I guess there are really only 26 chapters in this final act. I would have prefered 33, just to have a 200-episodes total series.

This 180th episode was a mix of several chapters : 283/284/285, 410, 505/506

reply

Perhaps it was because i was expecting not to like the Shippo plot, but it ended up being quite the opposite. I really enjoyed the interaction between Shippo and the other junior demons with the Inuyasha and the others.
