Unfortunately the controversy surrounding Alison Mack does stain the show legacy

I do not see myself watching the show anymore the same way I did back in the day. Every time Chloe will be onscreen I will not be able not to think about how she his faking the nice girl routine and she abused tons of women. Like Cosby show, sometime I just cannot separate the actor from the role.

I'm able to completely disregard feelings toward the actor/actress and just enjoy the show. Smallville is still great imo

reply

I have no problem separating the actor from the character. When i watch Smallville or Cosby i'm watching Chloe Sullivan and Cliff Huxtable not Cosby and Mack.

reply

I also have no issues separating the two. I just finished a rewatch of this show a month ago and hardly thought about.

Recently rewatched American Beauty as well, Spacey still provides a great performance and the movie is just as good as it was before his problems surfaced.

I usually don't have an issue separating roles and actors either. I do understand where you are coming from to a degree, but this was filmed before she did any of that. Even if she didn't, Chloe was a role and as an actor she would have been acting regardless of her personal life.

To match all the stains on that skanky ho's clothing?

reply

Have everyone on the show faint when she comes on, have a viewer think "I was too busy not seeing colour I didn't see the sex trafficking either" .

reply

It's a terrible problem now with film stars where people would become distracted by their presence especially if they're associated with something else or if they're a tabloid presence.

reply

It was one of the most shocking sexual misconduct scandals ever because Chloe represents his sweet innocent no nonsense girl who's one of the last few people you'd expect, when you hear she's a sex trafficker it's like "how is it possible", it's unfortunate sad situation that ruins her whole legacy.
