I thought it was actually really well done, despite all the toilet humor. I thought it was done in a clever way... most of it, It was sort of making a commentary on the state of people's entertainment these days, especially with the teacher making the speech about "real comedy"... before getting shat on... normally I really hate the Wayan's Bros. Scary Movie type humour that just seems to be raunchy for no reason other than to get a cheap laugh, but there's a lot of hidden details, funny lines calling out the ridiculousness of teen movies, and good "bad" acting (I know that sounds like a contradiction)... and uses all that in both subtle and blatantly obvious fashion.
There's a few parts where I feel are really bad or overly ridiculous, but I can look past it with a lot of other content that is actually really well done. Especially the timing of music, pacing, and how it mimics the Teen movie genre, but also the acting... acting in the way that they are acting super serious, like how they are acting would be "good" (meaning acceptable for the genre) for a movie like say, She's All That... while saying the most ridiculous *beep* with the utmost and sincere sense of conviction. I've always found that style of humor funny, a la Hot Shots Part Deux.
I've watched this before with people, who don't get it, and are very surprised I even like the movie. I think if you can only see the toilet humor, and can't get past that or don't have an appreciation for the other detailed subtleties, you're just going to hate the movie.
