Glasses off is not going to help that woman. She may as well keep them on.

I know! Even with the frizzy hair and glasses, you could sorta tell she had a decent-looking face. They just didn't put a lot of makeup on her and had her doing weird facial expressions before the makeover. I mean, what is it about women curling their lips when they have glasses on? I never did that back when I wore glasses, why do they?

There are quite a few "ugly duckling" stories I saw in movies and TV shows back in the 90s and early 2000s that did this, and frankly, it doesn't always work if because they don't actually do much to pretty up the girl in question. She already looked pretty, she just had a crappy wardrobe, shitty hairdo, and no makeup under the glasses.

And for the record, it is possible for a woman to wear glasses and still look beautiful. Otherwise, we wouldn't have the secretly sexy librarian trope out there.
