what's with all the Samoans or New Zealand folk in the movie?

Whats up with the Samoan or New Zealand actors that were shown on screen more than the regular cast?

Yeah noticed that. Loads of z - list Antipodean soap actors taking centre stage in a supposed Hollywood blockbuster. Also that guy playing Agent Smith in the real world - no clue who he is and he's never done anything big time afterwards either. Yet he's on the screen more than Reeves and Fishburne for a good part of the film. Weird.

Hugo Weaving is a good actor and has been in some really good films despite not being A-list. Check out The Interview (1998), no, not the Seth Rogan one.

Also he was in all 3 LOTR films and they're hardly B-movies...

Not Hugo Weaving you muppets. I said "playing Agent Smith IN THE REAL WORLD". The guy in Revolutions that was playing Agent Smith OUTSIDE of the Matrix.

But his character name is credited as Bane, not Agent Smith.

I guess his character changed from "Bane" to "Bane possessed by Agent Smith" at some point.
I cant remember if that happened towards and of matrix 2 , or in m3
