Why are there so few movies about the american revolutionary war?

Seems like there should definitely be one about centered on Washington. Not sure why that's never come about.

Why so few about WWI?

Why no movies or TV shows about the people of Africa in the times before western men came in contact with them?

Not a huge fan of remakes, but with the right script, I think Johnny Tremaine could be done well (I don't think the Disney version was quite right.) Unfortunately, Hollywood would probably destroy it these days.
