most emotionally haunting films

This strikes me as being one of the more haunting films I have seen in quite some time. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions besides the list provided below. I am sure there are many more, so recommendations are welcome. Cheers

1. Interiors
2. The Virgin Suicides
3. We Don't Live Here Anymore
4. Picnic at Hanging Rock
5. Lantana
6. Rebecca
7. Gates of Heaven

You know my two choices might seem odd but here we go.
A Home Of Our Own
Men Don't Leave
I guess maybe they are more sad than haunting but they leave me with an odd feeling every time.

"Mother Puss Bucket" ...Dr. Peter Venkman

one last for me was "the killer inside me" but i would classify this one as negatively emotionaly haunting since it disgusted me so much for a really long time and even now when i think about it I am really uncomfortable. This movie was atrocious. I really struggled after it to watch again violent or just thriller/investigation stuffs

For some reason, it took me weeks to recover from my first viewing of Fight Club. Kaïro, Suicide Club and Babel also left me really down for some time.

I think it's good to share these films with strangers, all right with people you know, but downright dangerous with people you trust. The feelings I had when watching the aforementioned movies and some others, are very personal and depend as much on the film itself as on the special time I saw it.

Therefore, it's an illusion to believe anyone else would feel just like I did. When I try to show the film to somebody, and that person just tells me "Hmm... yeah, that was all right", it's another disappointment. The more I hoped the person to share my emotions, the stronger the frustration. In my inside world, it's like a treason.

The two most emotionally haunting films i have seen are

1- Lost in translation
2- Betty blue

I have have never been able to bring myself to watch betty blue again as it was such a shock to me i watched it back in 2007, i cried for a good hour after it had finished something i have never experienced before or since watching that film.
