This show was a mess.

Here's my summary of the seasons.

Season 1 - Really good. Enjoyed the sisters getting to know their powers, and how to start navigating life with them and the problems with having their powers, i.e. keeping secrets.

Season 2 - Enjoyable. The romance (even with the leads being women) is a little too much.

Season 3 - Really good season. Baltazar storyline was enjoyable. Sad that Shannen departed after this. She was my favourite.

Season 4 - Good season. Missed Shannen a lot, however loved Rose as Paige. She's great. Alyssa had a more prominent role this season, but only because Shannen was not there. Holly did fine. Getting a bit tired of seeing Julian/Cole so much.

Season 5 - This season was below par. It got silly. Previous seasons were dark, however this was more comical and light hearted. This massive tone shift did not work. Rose as Paige is still great.

Season 6 - Another below par season. It really has moved away from what made it good. The enormous amount of focus on Wyatt was really unnecessary. Alyssa is very annoying to watch.

Season 7 - Better season. Still too much Wyatt. Really liked the Charmed Noir episode, and the Avatars storyline. Zankou was an ok villain.

Season 8 - The Triad made for an interesting storyline. The addition of Billie was ok. However, the Christy storyline completely ruined this season. Awful last season.

The shift in tone of the show really ruined it, and multiple showrunners also did not help. The show just changed so much, and should've been 5 seasons, maximum. The only plus side of Shannen departing was Rose. I loved her throughout. She was amazing as Paige. Holly as Piper is always fun to watch. I did not care for Alyssa/Phoebe at all. Alyssa is a horrible person, and got annoyed every time she was on-screen, and I ignored her storylines for the most part, except when the 3 sisters were battling together.

The acting in this show was really good. Lots of familiar faces as guest stars. The CGI on the show has not aged well at all.

This show really elevated the beauty of San Francisco with incredibly beautiful aerial shots.

This show has meant a lot to me personally, but I won't watch it again.

I watched it on streaming myself a few years ago and had to stop after a few episodes into Season 6. It got soooo stupid. You can really tell when WB (later known as the CW) got their claws into it because the quality of the story-telling goes down a lot.

It seems every tv show that went to WB from another studio in the 90s and was dumb enough to let WB's writers get involved, basically was destroyed in content and quality. I'm still mad at them for what they did to "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," as well as being responsible for some of the worst teen tv shows from the 2010s onward. I actually cheered when they went out of business and got sold.

I watched it with my kids when they were young and enjoyed it for them. I thought it lost a lot when Shannon Doherty left and I got so ****ing bored with the whole 'Cole' thing. As I recall my favourite episodes were the one where Phoebe got turned into a Banshee (thought she looked really hot) and the one where they stepped into an old b&w horror movie.

Loved the show, but once the show started to move away from the sisterhood and make someone else the main character - Cole, Wyatt, Billie, etc. - it just fell flat after that, even when it came back to the sisters. It really lost the essence of what made it great and had a throwing darts at a dart board to see what trends kind of feel to it.
