How many times have you seen this movie?
I've probably seen it 20 times and it never gets old!

shareAlong with High Fidelity and The Sure Thing, I've seen Grosse Pointe Blank well over a dozen times over the years. Those three films are the Cusack's best films imo. Blank has a great soundtrack, great cast, the central romance is enjoyable and the ending in the house is action packed. one of my fav's from the 90's. What in the hell has happened to John Cusacks career in the last 10 years or so.
shareIt's certainly gone in the crapper, if you look most of his movies as of late are direct to DVD or video pretty sad considering he had a great early and mid career.
shareSome say he's made a ton of enemies in Hollywood cause of his outspoken views. He's not one to mince his words when it came to what he thought of Hollywood. Maybe he has the same problem as his buddy Nic Cage, he's overspent and needs to pay off his debts so stares in anything that pays him the most. Whatever it is, he's stared in some trash, but he will star in a David Cronenberg or Spike Lee film to show he's still around while he still shoots out those direct to DVD films.
shareHe just needs to be in a Quentin Tarantino movie and his career will resurrect.
shareJohn Cusack stopped being a reason for me to watch a movie sometime around "Grifters (1990)" and I have never seen GPB before last night (and didn't even know that Cusack was in it). Wow, this was a fun and entertaining movie. It would be nice if someone could write a respectable sequel.
shareEven Grosser Pointe Blank
shareThree times.
shareSame here, three times.
Great film, must watch it again. I remember fondly the cafe scene with Ackroyd and the road house scene with the two versions of the Live and Let Die song.
I've not seen it in many years. Rented it on video, dubbed it. Showed it to a mate who loved it. Then revisited it again some years later. I remember the movie very fondly and i'm not in a rush to ruin it. Gonna wait till the nostalgia vibe is right to watch it again.
shareOnly once.
I like Jon Cusack and I'm from Michigan so I'm predisposed to like this movie.
But there is something about paid killers being a point of interest and sympathy which gives me pause.
I didn't realize he was churning out straight to DVD stuff.
Of many roles, I liked Just Say Anything. Gave me a bit of inspiration, although that didn't work in the long run.
Cusack is good at playing a confused, good heart, every man.
I think the "everyman" type roles ran their course when he passed 40 years old. They worked well as teen/twenty/thirtysomething character but his schtick is getting old. His style too with the "man in black" attire doesn't look god on him either.
shareBut what else is he supposed to do? He's not gonna get ripped like Bruce Willis, wouldn't fit into a Super Hero movie. Not so handsome as Richard Gere. He needs either quirky or every man roles to play to his strengths. He needs to find a screenplay that fits him and sell it to an art house type director and have a low-budget mega-hit. Then he'll be set for life and he can really retire ...
unless he's already there.
Like 10-12
shareMANY TIMES...GREAT MOVIE.
share🤔 two or three times.
Really made for young adults that are ten years past school and are finding out about the ennui of everyday work life.
Kind of like Fight Club, i find it hard to revisit this movie after 20 years past that stage of life.
