Hilda and Zelda were in their 30s
Hilda was 31-32 in the first season. Zelda was around 36-37.
I thought they were older.

I always thought Zelda was older but then again they were witches and could stay young I guess. The episode where they turn into kids is creepy and cool.
shareI didn't know that either. Lol
Maybe it's cause we were all very young when the show first aired.
They looked older and I am surprised that they were meant to be that young.
shareIt's their actual ages. The first season came out in late 1996, so filming occurred in late-1995 to early-1996.
Beth Broderick (Zelda) was born on Feb 1959, which makes her 37-ish when she filmed season 1. Caroline Rhea (Hilda) was born on April 1964, which means her 32-ish when she filmed season 1.
Fair enough maybe it was their hairstyles or just my perception at the time. I thought they were 40's and even early 50's for Beth.
shareHilda looked in her 30s but Zelda looked like she was pushing 50
shareHard living does that.
shareThat's because she wore her hair short and clothing that suited a middle-aged woman rather than a younger woman, despite being in her 30s. Zelda's style was always said to be "elegant," but at times, she has the personality of someone who would act middle-aged their entire lives because she's the responsible one that enforced the rules, despite Hilda and Sabrina's efforts to break them all the time.
shareI'd believe that when it comes to the actresses' ages, but in the show, they repeatedly mentioned to Sabrina that they were each over 600 years old.
Based on that one flashback they showed of the aunts as little girls, that means they were born in the 1300s (14th century), though why they were living as peasants hiding in plain sight in the Mortal Realm during that time puzzles me.
