Movies with zero comic relief

What are some movies that remain bleak throughout? I'd say Se7en is one. Sure we have that scene in the apartment ("Just a soothing, relaxing, vibrating home huh?") but I wouldn't say it's all that funny - nor the part where Mills briefly talks about shaving off a nipple.

Anyway you get the idea. Here are some movies without comic relief:

- Se7en
- John Carpenter's The Thing
- Alien
- Irreversible
- Requiem for a Dream
- Blade Runner

Your turn.

At one point in Se7en, R Lee Ermey calls his crew "Ladies and Germs." It's just a toss-off line, he's not in a lather or anything.
It's kinda funny.

Actually, I would say this movie had at least SOME comic relief in the sense where Brad Pitt's character was acting tough and aggressive, this did elicit a few chuckles out of me on a number of occasions.

Platoon
Saving Private Ryan
The Fly
2001 A Space Odyssey (although the "you need to sit down and take a stress pill" was pretty close)

That's not really comic relief. That's something a character would say in real life. Comic relief would be Mills slipping on a banana or falling into a swimming pool. And then he would flail about screaming that he can't swim. Sommerset would roll his eyes and look at the camera with a "What you gonna do" look and shrug his shoulders. And then when Sommerset would try and help him out he would fall in too. Oh, what could have been.

You're wrong. Comic relief is "a relief from the emotional tension especially of a drama that is provided by the interposition of a comic episode or element".
