Goro's death was lame
It wasn't even a fight.
Y'know, I could eat a peach for hours
He broke the shades.
shareTough to do much with Goro...the special effects just weren't there. Besides, Johnny Cage does get the best fight in the movie (w/ Scorpion) and he's not the main character so it's fair that his Goro fight was lame.
Even the most primitive society has an innate respect for the insane.
Yeah it really was. They hyped the *beep* out of the fight and then most of the "combat" was done when the camera was zoomed way out so they were just small little figures in the distance, and only lasted a few seconds.
Really hoped for more out of it. To spend so much time building Goro as this unstoppable monster only to have him go out, literally whining scared.
It was a quick fight and made Goro look like a fool.
But I think it’s also the limitations of technology. They couldn’t do much with Goro, which is why I think they should’ve kept Goro out of the film.
True.
They actually had a lot of plans for Goro but the animatronic kept breaking due the humidity of island they were on. I think they did the best the could without running out of time. Goro actually looked pretty good in his opening scene. Also consider this was movie from the mid 90's made with less than a third of budget Jurassic Park had.
I read the novelization when I was a kid and the fight was much better. Johnny getting slammed around and beat up pretty good. Sonya being on the verge of tears. Johnny used a chain to break Goro's ankles and then finally threw him off the cliff just like the movie.
I actually read the book and first and remembered being really disappointed when. I saw the film.
Like you said, I think they planned for it to be better but the special effects just weren't there.
How was it not a fight, Cage roundhouse kicked him off the cliff.
Those were 500 dollar sunglasses asshole! Best fight scene of all time.
