Goldeneye vs Licence To Kill

It's a tricky one for me but I'd just about go with LTK.

Goldeneye for me. Despite its faults it is far superior to LtK. Even the score for Goldeneye is better than LtKs.

Both are very good Bond movies, but Goldeneye is the best one.

I don't understand how this is even a contest. GoldenEye by FAR. LTK is middle of the pack at best.

- Brosnan gives the better performance
- Trevelyan beats Sanchez
- GE has the better pre-title sequence
- GE has better action, it has one of the best fight scenes in all of Bond
- Superior Bond girl in GE
- The climax of GE is leaps and bounds better than LTK

The only thing LTK has an advantage in, is the Score.

Ron *beep* Swanson is the greatest thing that ever happened to television.

They are both good bond films but I think Goldeneye is more rewatchable.

Why the comparison? LTK is a rather small scale, down-to-earth revenge number while Goldeneye comes in the tradition of lavish, larger-than-life adventures such as TSWLM. In terms of quality they're pretty evenly matched though - with Goldeneye having a slight advantage perhaps (it used to be very much the other way around, but somehow the Brosnan's debut outing seems to have gotten better with each viewing).

I think GE has the better locations and the better lead Bond girl. I prefer Bond in Europe with Russia being an especially excellent location.

However, LTK has a slightly better villain and a hugely superior lead Bond actor in Dalton so I will vote for LTK.

Note, if Dalton had played Bond in GE and John Barry had scored GE as originally intended, I think I would prefer GE in that case.

LtK wins only slightly but Dalton also should've had this one if for no other reason than having 3 movies. This film did scream "Dalton!" at me, though.

Indeed. The ghost of Dalton's Bond completely haunts GE. I think TND is a better Brosnan Bond film because it was written for him and he seems more comfortable in it.

I agree but his real Goldeneye was The World is not enough.
Which has all the things which Made Goldeneye a great film but this time written completely for Pierce Brosnan.

I still love Goldeneye, actually i love the whole Brosnan era but the film where Pierce Shone the most was in The World is not enough

LTK wasnt a Bond movie at all. It was an action movie even dumber then the average Seagal movie. It was the worst and dumbest "Bond" movie ... before we got the superbrain Craig :) (even a rotten brick is more Bondlike then him :) ). Golden Eye on the other side saved the Bond franchise again. The only thing missing was the usual classical soundtrack. But on the other side .... Eric Serra was at that time one of the best movie composers out there and did an awesome unique soundtrack.

LTK vs Golden Eye is like night vs. day!
