Music ruins it abit
That annoying guitar music was wel used for sum parts, but the whole way through,it just got ridiculous and made it seem like a comedy.

shareJust watched it for the first time tonight. I liked the movie but I hated the music. I had to come straight on here to see if anyone was of the same opinion as me on the subject. After about an hour I took to muting it and turning the sound back on when there was dialogue. I didn't know the "score" had anything to do with Neil Young before I came on here, but it confirmed something that I now realise has been been in the back of my mind all my life; I now know I hate Neil Young. The guitar playing (murdering) seemed completely disjointed and random. It sounded like some have-a-go-joe came in off the street to bang away while he was watchin.
I also hate Britney Spears, Good Charlotte and teeny boppers.
ntini77... It IS a comedy. The music for this film added almost as much as the score for Halloween did for that film. Great score.
shareAgreed. It would be okay if it wasn't insanely redundant.
shareI quite like the Soundtrack, i'm listening to it right now actually.
It fits pretty well with the movie. In the part where Blake kills two guys, and the music starts playing just as he fires the guns, come on you gotta admit that it worked very well in that scene.

We are the stuff of nightmares.
It is a comedy.

I strongly believe that the music adds to this film and elevates it to another level.

THE PROPOSITION
I agree with the majority here. The music was fantastic and unique. Perfect for the slow and dreamy way the story unfolded. I believe this movie is Jarmusch's greatest work and the music was a big part of it. I never get tired of watching this one.
...or listening to the music.
