Vegetarian
I saw this film a few years ago and instantly became vegetarian (and still am 3 years on!)
I was just wondering how many others have converted to vegetarianism as the result of 'Babe'?

yes, it definitley influenced me, i saw it when it came out when i was 8, and i've been a vegetarian since. 11 years and counting
shareGood on ya, sci_fi_rocks!
shareI loved Babe. I also love meat. I don't think I could be a vegetarian. I see why others do it but it's definately not for me.
Is it healthier? I don't think so. My grandfather lived to be 102 and he wasn't a vegetarian.
But yep, Babe is a great movie. Heartwarming and great for kids to see.

Enjoy your steaks while you can. Your children are going to pay for it when the enviroment goes down the toilet. And all you boneheads that don't think meat production worldwide is bad for the enviroment, do a little research. You're already on the internet!
shareBabe, Charlotte's Web and Super Size me all made me go green.

VEGGIES FOREVER!!!!!!
shareVegetarians tend to be hippies, and hippies are pretentious, hypocritcal scum who don't shower and don't wear shoes. Ergo, by not eating meat, you become a hippie, and the world becomes worse because of it.
Eat your hamburger, have your heart attack, die, and stop breathing my air. Thanks!
shareI saw the movie Babe several times - LOVED it! STILL love it; in fact I just recently purchased the DVD Double Feature (Babe 1 & 2).
But has it "converted" me to vegetarianism?
Nah.
Will it ever "convert" me to vegetarianism?
Nope.

Born a bone cruncher, still a bone cruncher, die a bone cruncher I guess.
Film is maybe the most gorgeous film ever, a delight to watch with any young'un, no matter their age.
"Name two ways of getting them flowing, Watson".
Just today I didn't eat the chicken in my dinner because chicken is my least favourite of all meats, and my dad was like, "Why didn't you eat your chicken? ...HAVE YOU BECOME A VEGETARIAN?" And I blinked and said no. O.o xD
The movie didn't affect my liking for meat, but I still love Babe :3 And I have nothing against vegans. My friend is one and I respect her fully!

Wingo: A-HAHAHAHA!
DJ: How many cups of coffee was that?
Wingo: 46!
DJ: -backs away slowly-
Didn't become a vegetarian but I vowed never to eat pork again. And to this day, I haven't.
shareIt was very easy (and even impossible for me not to make the commitment)
to turn my life around, after seeing the incredible
and life-changing film, Earthlings.

From IMDb:
Unquestionably the most comprehensive look at animal abuses and cruelty ever made. A very sobering look at why animal rights is something we must all recognize. Joaquin Phoenix does a wonderful job narrating (he's a life-long vegan), and brings a solemn tone to the film. The video clips are hard to watch, but are undeniably happening millions of times every day, all over the world. With any luck, people will watch this film and be inspired to reject and prevent this kind of cruelty from occurring in the future. I know I will.
I will give this film a 10, because even though I knew some of the information going into it, the film still covers more aspects of animal rights
and abuses than I ever thought imaginable.

i have to say...even if your a vegan..just because you stop eating animals..or using products..doesn't make you free from killing animals and such..unless you live in a cave...lol
i looooove this movie too..really cute..
"hey howdy hey! thats me on a yoyo!"
After seeing this film in 1996 I became an instant vegetarian. Thanks Babe!
The following quotaion has always moved me:
"Poor animals! How jealously they guard their pathetic bodies... that which to us is merely an evening's meal, but to them is life itself."

Hey, it's cool that you're a vegetarian. Vegetarians rock! I am not a vegetarian but I do prefer veggies over meat.
"a tulawin"
You know I don't really think it matters anymore whether or not you eat meat or are a vegetarian. You have the vegetarians saying how much healthier the diet is for you but how many food recalls in the past 2 years have involved vegetables; tomatoes, jalapenos, lettuce.
Can't win for losing when it comes to your dietary preferences. I say eat what you want and be happy.
I've been a vegetarian for about 3 or 4 years. I find it easy, you can buy meat subs like Quorn that taste and look like meat.
When Life Gives You Crayons, Colour Your World
I'm sick of vegetarians saying how unnatural eating meat is. Oh really? Because last time I checked chemically produced health supplements (that most vegetarians I know take) and fake TVP (textured vegetable protein)shaped to look like meat is sure as hell a lot less natural.
shareWell I only lasted a while as a vegetarian. I did lose weight but steak and hot dogs drew me back. I don't know how I feel about eating meat but I just know that I have to. I was diagnosed soon after it that I have really low blood pressure and eating meat seems to help keep my energy levels up and stops me from fainting. I tried all sorts of ways but it didn't work at all.
When I was a vegetarian though I felt tired all the time even though I ate healthy and had enough iron and protein. I constantly felt hungry too. Didn't help that I'm allergic to whatever they put in Quorn and it makes me terribly gassy. Almost died from my own wind.
I have this funny thought about what God would have said about this situation upon learning of as reported by an Angel.
Angel: They are eating the cows.
God: What!? You mean the chickens right?
Angel: No, the cows.
God: Dear me, I gave them the chickens to eat and the cows for milk.
Angel: I know but theyre eating them.
God: Well thats dreadful. Oh no....
Angel: What is it God?
God: What have they done with the horses?
