YOUR FAVORITE EPISODE OF ALL TIMES??

I was about 12 in 1995, when the series sttared so I was pretty young when I began watching The Outer Limits. I didn't even know it was a Canadian series until a few years ago, but I remember alot of the old ones like Heist with a young pre-Saving Private Ryan Barry Pepper and that pretty freaky epsiode with Brent Spiner who played Data on Star Trek: The Next Generation. I also remember there was another epsiode where aliens had abducted a street block or something, can't remember precisly. But of all my absolulte favorite of all times is Abduction. Not only because I'm in love with Meghan Ory (SP) but because it is a very, very good lession about school shootings that I think all people adults and kids alike should watch. Heck why not even show it to a high school class and get then to discuss the topics that the epsiode presents. Anyways, I like sharing, so what's yours? Another one I also liked stared John Spencer from the West Wing and Micheal Ironside it was called "Summit".

(1) Tempests - amazing story, great twist, quite scary. Spiders!!!
(2) Nest - again quite scary, insidious beetles.
(3) The New breed - best episode of the 1st season in my opinion. Nanobots!!
(4) Bodies of Evidence - Very cool episode, reminded me of event horizon a little.

And many more good ones. The Deprogrammers, Inconstant Moon, Vanishing Act, Afterlife, Sarcophagus, The Surrogate, Family Values, Monster, The Shroud, White Light Fever, Second Thoughts, Revelations of Becka Paulson, Feasibility Study, Music of the Spheres, Under the Bed.

Such a great series. I wish they would make some more, hehe :D

"Quality of Mercy" is probably my favorite episode, I saw it when I was like 12, still have nightmares of it. The ending was just shocking and depressing. Robert Patrick and Nicole de Boer were amazing in it as well.

Other than that I really enjoyed the episodes with various aliens, the makeup effects were really well done, even better than you see on most scifi shows on tv nowdays.

The Outer Limits is such a great series! Too bad they didnt continue.

My favorite episodes that I can think of:

"The Conversion" - That episode just made me feel happy.

"Quality of Mercy" - Suspenseful till the end, and what an ending!

"The New Breed" - Just love "experiments-gone-wrong" stuff.

"A Stitch In Time" - Timetraveling is always exciting.

"Mind Over Matter" - Cool concept and sad ending!

"Straight and Narrow" - Really suspenseful and depressing ending.

"First Anniversary" - Creepy episode!

"Trial By Fire" - Loved it! A real nailbiter.

"The Refuge" - Love the mindtwisting stuff that's going on.

"Afterlife" - Felt so sorry for that guy, and a thrilling ending.

"The Deprogrammers" - Really made me think of life when they went into the memory room with "What a wonderful world" playing in the background, loved it!

"The Light Brigade" - Amazing episode!!

"Vanishing Act" - Like I said, love timetravel stuff.

"The Sentence" - Poor guy !

"Tempests" - Mindtwisting and a REALLY creepy ending :/ (Hate spiders)

"New Lease" - I felt SO sorry for the main character!

"Dead Man's Switch" - Thrilling from beginning to end.

Well, that's my favorites. Man I love this series! Love the way many of the episodes leave me thinking and have some clever words at the end.

I just started watching Outer Limits, in the reruns on The Sci-Fi Channel. I just saw Fear Itself. The ending, which I guess I shouldn't mention cuz it'd be a spoiler. The ending absolutely made me so terrifed and sad. I mean, in a good way. Like, it's rare that there are shows made anymore that convey such powerful emotion. Also the ending is so ironic too. I think it goes to prove that true horror really is more about psychology.

I also thought Fear Itself, with the concept of Bernard being able to attack people with his brain waves, or thoughts. Is alot like David Cronenberg's film Scanners.

Hard to pick a favorite, as there are so many great episodes in this series.

One I particularly liked a lot and a fav, was the episode where this futuristic Earth Starship is stuck in a kind of "pocket" in space. Where they discover another ship that went missing long ago, and an unknown alien ship.

There is this giant chunk of "dark matter" that is supposed to be sustaining this unnatural pocket in space. The pocket is supposed to be so contained that NOTHING can escape it, not even the souls of those who die within it. Eventually both aliens and human spirits start appearing around the ship.

In the end they make it out by having both the earth & alien ships aligned, and blasting the dark matter with their rockets. Once the dark matter is destroyed, the space pocket dissolves and they are back in normal space.

I like this episode because the mysteriousness of this "dark matter", and how not even *SOULS* can escape its grasp. Creepy. Also the alien ghosts.

Ok, I was probably 12 or so when I saw it, but I still remember it. IF SOMEONE KNOWS THE EPISODE, that would rock. Anyway, the world is attacked by aliens and there are four people buried in underground bunkers who need to press their buttons in order to keep nukes from destroying the world. They start dissapearing too. It's so cool. Any help experts?

My favorite episode is Starcrossed.

Here's why :

a) Nathan Fillion ( Firefly & Serenity ) is in it....great actor, great humor and emotion.
b) It's a 48 minute futuristic version of Casablanca.
c) Angeline Ball ( The Commitments ) sings a couple of great songs...she's also quite convincing as a patriot-warrior.
d) Episode feels and looks more like a movie than a tv show.

Other big OL favorites :

1) A Stitch In Time
2) Gettysburg
3) Tribunal ( who does not cry at the end of that one??)
4) Caught In the Act
5) Flower Child
6) Music Of the Spheres
7) The Inheritors
8) Double Helix
9) Time To Time....I just really like that girl!

Skin Deep. It was the first episode I saw. I didn't know it was an anthology show - at the time - so I was shocked when they killed the main characters.

Having fond memories of Light Brigade I recently waded through the majority of episodes listed above looking for similar. Unfortunately I have to say the majority aren't very good and some are awful but it's almost worth it to find a stone cold classic now and then.

1. Tempests : Ingenious weaving of different storylines, backstory rewards repeat viewing, scary.

2. Light Brigade : powerful ending, massively ambitious

3. The Sentence : Niles Crane, professionally produced, haunting

4. Sandkings : The human cast in this grate, leaving the sandkings themselves to steal the show. probably the most realistic alien species devised.

5. The Camp : Good acting, interesting premise and that all important twist.

6. Dead Man's switch : low budget cheese fest stuck in a dungeon. Against all odds it somehow manages to project a powerful mounting sense of doom.

7. Special Edition : Hodge podge of culled prev episodes which somehow manages to rise above the sum of its parts.

and can anyone help? I was looking for an episode where aliens had conquered the earth with most humans enslaved but for a few resistance fighters, one such is detached somehow from his group and encounters another group of survivors. At first suspicious of their good diet and comfort he is slowly won over by his love for one of the group and gives the position of his unit.... at which point the curtain is raised and the aliens waltz in (the humans were brainwashed puppets used as bait). Anyone know the episode name? I thought it was the deprogrammers but having seen it it didn't really match, my memory might be playing tricks.

^It sounds like you are confusing The Deprogrammers and Quality of Mercy. Quality of Mercy was the prequel to The Light Brigade.

hey, do you know what's the title of that one episode where a girl got possessed by an alien that fell from her roof and made her nympho? and then later absorbs them into her body..

My personal favorite, I don't know the name of it, but it was about an average looking guy who's married to a woman far out of his league, but after they've been married for about a year or so, he starts to have these weird hallucinations around her. And the twist at the end
*SPOILER*
is that she's really a big, hideous alien who used mind control on him that's wearing off because he's been around her for so long. Rather than accept her for what she really is, he gets carted off to an insane asylum.

I have a question. I remember seeing a show, i believe it was Outer Limits. It was about a young man who watches a family from a portal like thing. The portal opens every once in awhile and the young man jumps through it at the end and the aliens start to eat him. If any of this makes sense or reminds you of anything Please let me know!! Thank you
Could this be Afterlife or Paradise? Or something else??
