but that still doesn't mean, that it will be over. In planetmadtv.com there is article about this, and it says that MADtv has had offers from different tv-stations over the years. So maybe it will be in another channel.
I personally would love, if MADtv does continue. And this thread isn't for you haters. If you don't like MAD, fine. Don't come here to tell us that. Even though season 13 and 14 weren't as good as the previous ones, it still is good comedy to me.
I hope it does get picked up by another station. Yeah sure they have their bad episodes but they can have some really funny ones. They are a lot better than SNL now.
I dont get the point of cancelling the show, they will just show re-runs anyways lol. How much you wanna bet that the show will be back. If I would have known tonight was the series finale I would have watched it instead of SNL (which was lame tonight, WILL FARRELL YOU SUCK!)
I loved Michael McDonald and Bobby Lee. Stewart and the Bobby Lee's famous "Uh-oh hot dog" always made me laugh! Also notice that they did not do 1995-2009 it is still 1995-???? and one of the articles says "Series Signs Off--for Now". Talkshow won't be coming back either I guess (for season 4) and Wanda Sykes is going to have a talkshow instead!?
"I know what you did last summer, 22 years ago, in the winter!" - Homer Simpson
I'm glad mad tv is gone. It was possible one of the worst scripted shows ever. I hated how they replaced 90s snl with mad tv years ago. Although I hate SNL too ever since early 2000s. I guess I'm sick of scrubs as well (yeah I know it's not even close to same type of show). When comedy central gets a show all they do it ABUSE it by running it too much because most of their stuff is crap to begin with.
But yes it's good to see Mad Tv gone. Out of every show ive mentioned mad tv is the worst.
I cant believe they canceled it and i just found out! I love Mad TV i spent alot of dateless saturday nights watching them, saturdays wont be the same. Even though the last two seasons were pretty rotten. Somebody ruined it and dont say the actors because they all rock!
The show had its moments, otherwise I wouldn't have watched it when I did, but more often than not, it was just nails on the chalkboard.
I know some MADtv apologists will tell me ''Well that's what's so brilliant about it! It is an indictment of everyday life...'' Like I care.
I watch TV to be entertained. It is the other characters who should be annoyed by their interactions with Ms. Swan or Stuart or The Vancome Bitch, not me, the viewer.
And making Steven Seagal a recurring character? That man hasn't had a hit movie since before the series aired! Yes, I have written a hilarious sketch lampooning Judge Ito, the John Wayne Bobbitt case and the Pee Wee Herman porno theater arrest! The producers will approve that script, won't they?
I am sorry, I don't mean to be a prick, but MADtv did jack for me. If you derive enjoyment from the show, you are welcome to take a hunting knife and drive it into a plate glass window to your heart's content. I just prefer something a little more topical ;)
Lol at this thread. OP asks that the haters stay out, and nearly every comment after that is idiots just saying how the show sucks.
I've been watching sketch comedy for decades. You kids don't know about funny. MadTV was the funniest sketch show on Fox since In Living Color. You kids probably don't know this, but the MadTV actors WAAAAAAAYYYY outlasted the average "original crew". SNL replaces actors every couple years, most other sketch comedy shows don't last nearly long enough.
From other threads, I know the majority of you weren't even watching MadTV before the 21st century. You appreciate anything. You have this awesome exceptionally long lasting sketch show handed to you on a platter, and you just bitch bitch bitch.
Everyone says SNL got worse after the original crew left, but then it got better, because they stuck it out. They survived the early-mid 80s, and that gave us the late 80s-early 90s, who were absolute legends. Mid-late 90s was crap again, but again there was an upswing.
I agree that in the few seasons after most of the original crew left it wasn't quite as good, but I'll be damned if the 2008/9 season wasn't absolutely the funniest season I have ever seen. They were solid every episode. If you ever loved MadTV, seriously watch any 2009 episode and see if you aren't rolling around on the floor.
Kind of surprised and not surprised they canceled it too.
I haven't liked SNL since the 1st couple seasons. After that, they had maybe 5 funny bits in the past 30 years. Can't say Mad TV was great but it wasn't painful to watch like SNL can be.
I was a Terminator fan, so I know the pain the Mad TV fans are feeling. FOX execs are not the smartest or most patient folk in the world. Frankly, it amazes me those morons have been able to keep their jobs.
