Funniest Scene

I think that the funiest scene was when Harry and Tom Arnold had Simon on top of Hover Dam (or whatever that was)and Simon was so scared that he pissed his pants!! LOL! That was so funny!

My favourite scenes are...

1. When Harry beats up the guy in toilets, puts the guys face in the urinal and says "Cool off."

2. When Harry is talking to Tom while pursuing on the horse and says "Hurry up! My horse is getting tired."

3. And my personal favourite, when Helen asks Harry "Are we gonna die?" to which he replies "Yup!"

Yup that's a good part.

I really like the part when Harry meets Simon for the first time and Harry puts this image in his head of back-handing Simon to death!

But By far the funniest Quote/Scene...

Then perhaps you better get some... before somebody parks a automoblie in front of the White House with a nuclear weapon in the trunk!

i love the part wherein harry was dancing with helen at the end of the movie, doing the tango... (if you notice helen did a perfect split) ;-)

reply

You're fired!

When Harry and Tom let Simon go and he sticks around. Right when Tom shoots at the ground around Simon.

OR

When the bomb goes off.

"When Harry and Tom let Simon go and he sticks around. Right when Tom shoots at the ground around Simon."

Yeah that was a great scene. Its funny too because in that scene Tom says "Get lost dip S##t" to Simon. Its hilarious!

"Terror travels... by trike! Underage Road Rage, next on Sick, Sad World."

reply

Come on...you are missing one of the funniest scenes. After shooting a bunch of terrorist, including the one that was holding Helen around her head, Helen remarks that she married Rambo.

reply

i gotta say my vote for funniest line/ scene is:

Faisil: They call him the Sand Spider.
Spencer Trilby: Why?
Faisil: Probably because it sound scary.

the delivery is classic.

reply

The terrorists filming the demands. The camera dies. I love it when he says "Batteries" and "I think I have another, in the truck." Great.

The whole scene when Harry & CO. kidnap Helen and Simon at Simon's trailer.

And the interrogation. When Helen starts busting the window with the stool. Tom Arnold says "I think she might be telling the truth!" Great delivery

reply

Yeah, the part where they dump Simon off has to be the funniest for me. He says something to the extent of, "WOULD A SECRET AGENT PISS HIS PANTS??!?!?!" AHAHAHAA

And, probably, one of the funniest lines: "Oh boy, she's got her head in his lap. Yahoo." And Harry says, "..Maybe she's sleepy!"

One more. This probably isn't so much of a popular one, but I crack up when Harry and Faisil mock Harry and tango with each other. The way they dance and look at each other makes me have a heart attack!

*LMFAO*

reply

Guard: Sir, Sir.. May i see your invitation

Harry: Sure, Heres my invitation..BOOM!

Great scene.. And where he's sliding down the snow backwards shooting the guards.. Ah arnie what a legend.

reply

One line I found funny:

"They're gonna shoot us in de head de're gonna tourture us to death... they're gonna leave us here until the bomb goes off-"
"HARRY!"

lol he's so drugged up and all. it was just hilarious

I'm Tony Montana! You f*** with me, you f***in wit de best!

reply

Easily the funniest is when they are at the Dam with Simon and he is going on about how he has to lie to get women to sleep with him, and he doesn't get any action anyways, then out of nowhere "I've got a little dick, it's pathetic!"

Cracks me up

reply

It's not the most obvious choice but the bit where Harry and Helen are captured, Harry injected with that stuff to make him tell the truth, then he tells that bloke what he plans to do to escape and does exactly that-when he throws that knife into that terrorist's eye I just fell over!

There are loads of very funny bits though-when he's on the horse and he keeps saying 'excuse me'! (really casually like its normal to chase terrorists through hotels on horseback) ) Arnie is such a great star.

reply

totaly agree about the 'mock tango' scene. Their expressions alone were priceless. Definatly one of the best scenes.

reply

That's the one.

reply

The one that always makes me laugh is when Helen does the strip tease, wipes out and gets right back up.

What really makes that scene is how embarrassed Arnold looks after she takes her spill.

reply

The Vet gets em wet!

Gotta Love Simon!

reply

Every scene Bill Paxton is in! Something I never took note of before, that was hilarious to me:

The very first moment in Simon's "safe house" trailer, when he and Helen toast with wine, the plastic wine glasses "click" together, instead of clinking. That touch was pure brilliance, and it made me laugh really hard.

I have read this entire thread and cannot believe not one single person has mentioned this part:

The Saxophonist

There he is, playing along with his band in the hotel as he does every night. When suddenly a man on a motorcycle comes tearing past. He acknowledges this (you can see the look on his face as if if to say 'that's a little strange') but like the consumate proffessional he is, he carries on with show. Nothing will make him break his concentra... *HOLY SH%T!!!!* followed by him diving out of the way as Arnie comes crashing through the band stand on horse back!

It's the fact he sees the motorcycle and remains cool but quizical, the look on his face during the close up and the sound the saxophone makes. You can hear the exact words he's thinking though the noise alone XD

I think it's one of the funniest sight gags in the entire film

I always thought that actually happened in the scene, and then when I saw him back 2 normal - I thought wtf ?! Never thought it was a vision at all !

Maybe cos its such a gd film

When Harrys like "Gimme that goddamn page!" and breaks the car window. Gib just looks at him very sternly and says...."OK".

my favourite scene has 2 be when Helen pretends to be a prostitute and she tries to dance in the bedroom. I thought that was just hilarious.

I've been cracking up for the last couple of minutes, such funny moments in this movie.

You guys mentioned a lot of my favorites, so I just decided to quote you:

Harry:"What about their husbands?"
Simon: "DICKLESS!!"

When Harry beats up the guy in the toilet, puts the guy's face in the urinal and says "Cool off."

"When Harry and Tom let Simon go and he sticks around. Tom shoots at the ground around Simon."

Yeah that was a great scene. Its funny too because in that scene Tom says "Get lost dip S##t" to Simon. It's hilarious!

Guard: Sir, Sir.. May i see your invitation?

Harry: Sure. Here's my invitation..BOOM!

Bill: "She's like all these babes: You get her pilot lit, she can SUCKSTART a leaf blower! And she's got the most incredible body! Mmm, pair of titties that makes you wanna stand up and beg for buttermilk! Ass like a 10-year-old boy!!"

-Harry: "Just give me the goddamn page!" <smashes SUV window>

-Gib: "Seconds count, Harry! Ditch the bitch!"

"I had no idea nothin' was wrong, right? So I come home one day, and everything's gone. Furniture, clothing, everything. She even took the ice cube trays out of the freezer - WHAT KIND OF A SICK B*TCH takes the ICE CUBE TRAYS out of the FREEZER?!"

In the end when Harry crashes the jet plane into the building and Aziz goes flying up and lands on his "you know what place" and says "oooooo"

And the way he tries to walk straight afterwards, .

Faisil: [Hacking into a computer] Yes! Files are unlocked! Fast Faisil strikes again. I'm doing it, man! I've got my hand up her skirt, and I AM GOIN...
Gib: Just copy the goddamn files, OK?

I also really like the dinner scene when Helen is telling this big fat lie about her day and Harry's just looking at her with those evil eyes. So funny!

Best line......"Get another one you MORON!"

Who can forget the part right after they take Helen and Simon captive? Helen starts running, Harry grabs her, she bites him, he lets her go, another commando clubs her with his rifle to keep her from running, Harry turns around and punches the man out. Hilarious.

One great bit is wen arnie is staring at paxton with some binoculars and hes so angry that his look breaks the lenses

I like this one as well:

"and with the turn of that key.." "What key?" "That k--WHO'S TAKEN THE KEY?!"

Great thread.

"Tear it up, rip it up, kick it up"

reply

My vote for funniest scene is when Harry and Helen are hugging and smooching with a mushroom cloud nonchalantly rising in the background.

reply

recently watched this again, it's been ten years since it came out. my favorites:

1) jlc cracks the one-way mirror and tom says, "calm down, please."

2) arnold and jlc kissing near the end and he shields their eyes from the blast flash with his hand.

3) "natasha?" "no. doris." (the look on jamie's face is hilarious!)

4) jlc has her head down in bill paxton's lap. "maybe she's sleepy." lol!

5) last one, arnold to the horse, "what kind of a cop are you anyway?"

fun film. i love these actors and characters. sequel would be great!

reply

hmm my fav scene is the one where Tom Arnold is waitin for Arnie at his home to drive him to work and Dana is coming into the kitchen and Tom said " hey i remember my first time, when i get kicked out of a cannon" hahaha thats so funny to imagine the circus thing

reply

Am I the only one who thinks the funniest scene is the one where Arnold and Bill rides in the car Arnie is "interested in", Bill starts talking about the woman he's dating (Curtis) and then suddenly, Arnie hits him so hard in his face that he breaks his neck. And just after, we get to know it's only a dream sequence. I laughed for quite a while after that scene. :)

Love it when his 2 colleagues tango with each other. That was just crazy.
And then when Helen asks "Are we gonna die?" and he just says "Yup!"

If you were waiting for the opportune moment... that was it.

reply

HAHAHA... that was one cheap shot.

This movie is a classic; there were too many funny scenes to name. Just the sheer over-the-top nature of seeing Arnold in all these situations was great (e.g. when he turns the harrier away from the machine gun fire and then tries to get the chopper with the Vulcan cannon).

I'd say the Bill Paxton scenes were the funniest. The others were funny/cool at the same time.

reply

a bout the torturing guy: "do you know his speciality?" "oral hygine?" or whatever you spell it!

in fact, everything about that was great: "did you ever kill somebody?" "yeah, but they were all bad guys"

and of course, when he tells the bad guy how he is going to kill him and then shows him the handcuffs, the guy's face is great!

Duke Phillips : Thank you, Jay. After I die, you can eat my brain. It will give you power

reply

Yeah that backhanding scene was pretty good. I remeber when I saw that part for the first time I thought that it actually happened!

Helen - "Have you ever killed anyone?"
Harry - "Yeah but they were all bad!"

reply

yeah i love that bit too , james cameron tried to use it as a mockery type thing of Terminator too . loved it ;)

reply

I think this deserves a bump First of all, he wasn't gutted; I made that part up... his throat was slashed.

reply

I didn't see that as a Terminator reference/mockery.

I saw that line as a pure joke about all of the people he's killed in the movie so far. He's trying to justify all of that death to his wife. He plays it so innocently too. That's like icing on the cake. LOL.

reply

the brief scene I remember when Arnold punched Tom Arnold in the face. After the fight, Tom Arnold character is walking very slowly, almosst drunk and say "ohhhhh, Son of a b i t c h". Hilarious.
