Love Actually VS Four Weddings and a Funeral
Which do u guys think is better? Both have Hugh Grant in it and Richard Curtis writing. They also have that similar theme to it. Personally I think Love Acutally is better. How about you all?

Love Acutally... Alan Rickman is in that one.
shareLove Actually.
I liked Four Weddings, but I thought the end wasn't what I expected and I wasn't really impressed with it. It did have some laugh out loud moments though.
Four Weddings - no contest for me.
share4 weddings
without a doubt
but i enjoyed notting hill too
love actually was fine in parts but not brilliant
I LOVED Love Actually so I am gonna go with that
Four Weddings was great, but not as good for me =]

That was no choice at all Love Actually is actually a good film.
We live for The One, we die for The One.
I agree with the suming up of liberalmedia.
FWF is the better movie in terms of Movie making. And has unfogettable moments. But the shallowness of Carrie's character really repulsed me. One wondered who she would be scr*wing around with next week.
I loved Love Actually but was very disappointed that the scenes of Karen and her son/the Principal and her partner were omitted. I would rather have had them than the stand-in story, although this was sweet in itself but less well linked. These two linked stories show a beautiful mother/child story and a story of enduring homosexual domesticity which provideds a balance otherwise missing. It is a little surprising that with all the arty-farty people in this movie, male gay love is only hinted at.
On the other hand, I love the way it's handled in FWF.
"great minds think differently"
Neither are my favorite movie of all time, but if I had to choose which to watch again it would DEFINITELY be Love Actually. The story in Four Weddings is basically crap. There is nothing whatsoever that sets Carrie apart from any other woman on the planet. Her character was porrly written, and even more poorly acted. This could be overlooked if she were a minor character, but she wasn't by a long shot. She's the woman the main character (hero, in flim-speak) is in love with. This makes her the heroine. And she's a terrbile heroine.
Ignoring that character it's not too bad, but it's hard to love a movie when a main character is so poorly conceived. I would've preferred Charles ended up with one of his female friends.
Love Actually, on the other hand, is hilarious. Not only is it a fascinating concept as far as film-making goes, I think it works brilliantly. Every story is tied up fairly well (although I admit to being a smidge confused as to what happened with Alan Rickman's character). It's a beautiful story, clever, funny, and wonderful for the hopeless romantic. I was even able to overlook my dislike of Keira Knightly and enjoy that part of the story, too. Plus I LOVE the little kid. He's sooooo precious, and I love him running past security in the airport.
All-in-all, they're both decent, but Love Actually is far better conceptually and in practice. It worked better, it had a better script and better actors, and it was funnier.

Love Actually...always...forever...actually.
You think you have won,
You think all is well,
But kiss my green ass,
I shall see you in hell!
are you guys kidding. of course 4 weddings and a funeral
love actually had amazing actors or i wouldn't have seen it. The plot is just ridiculous. A minister and the food girl, yeah sure. The proposal to the Portuguese after knowing her for a week. And many other improbabilities.
oh i loved the kid in love actually, the only reason i saw love actually other times. he is so lovely
Love Actually - the humour is more real and the characters are better developed. Also, Love Actually has Alan Rickman, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson and Kris Marshall.
However, I do love 4 Weddings and I think the one-liners are better. Love Actually wins because I really don't like Carrie in 4 Weddings and, even though there are "bad" characters in Love Actually, none are as bad as Carrie.
PS: When I mean "bad", I mean they do bad things, like Harry's affair and the President flirting with Natalie
I told my parents how many people were voting for Love Actually over Four Weddings, and they were absolutely shocked. Like me, they don't think Love Actually even holds a candle to Four Weddings and A Funeral.
Why do so many people like Love Actually better? There are so many storylines in that movie that you have less time to get emotionally invested in each character. Four Weddings and a Funeral is a classic and a far better movie.
Four Weddings is BY FAR better than Love Actually, which is highly overrated. There are too many stories in Love Actually, and thus, less time is devoted to each character. I wasn't able to get emotionally invested in any of them. ...Four Weddings, on the other hand, is a masterpiece. It's hilarious, it's moving, and incredible well-written.
shareLOVE ACTUALLY
I loved the diverse cast and the interconnected stories.
Four Weddings and a Funeral by a mile. It's one of my all-time favorite movies, and Love Actually was just so-so. (Richard Curtis should only write movies, not direct them.)
Why not compare Four Weddings vs Notting Hill? They're both written by Richard Curtis as well, and Notting Hill is much closer in quality to Four Weddings than Love Actually.
Love Actually.
shareLove Actually is a '10' and in a different league than Four Weddings and Notting Hill.
I quite enjoy Four Weddings and Notting Hill - I'd put them in the 6-7 rating category.
FWIW - the first time I watched LA (in theater) I thought it was simply OK. The second time I watched it (at home) I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Somewhere between the 3rd and 5th viewings it became my all-time favorite movie....
Four weddings - I adore it. I love the morning after Carrie and Charles first meet and there's that very short scene with the birds on the fields and the cottage, the world waking up. I just love it.
I just find this whole film has those magical little moments in it for me. Love Actually is ok but it doesn't have those special little bits in it.
Love Actually, tie with Notting Hill, then Four Weddings
shareLove them both but I would give the slight nod to FWAAF. And actually, LA is just not seen on tv enough. Why isn't this a semi-classic during December at least? But the characters are fleshed out better in FW.
share4 weddings is by far better than love actually
Love actually is ok but far too 'bitty' to really get involved in
4 weddings is fabby!!
ya great gullah!!!!
