Ross is a creep!

I never thought so before, always loved this show. But now as I roll up on 50 watching the old episodes of Ross dating Bruce Willis' daughter. Heh heh. What an absolutely creepy perv. And she's his student, right? The mad groomer.

reply

Years since I saw it, but wasn't the fact that she was so much younger and a student raised a lot by the other characters?

reply

Yes, I just never thought so before, being young myself and thinking she was a hottie and duh and stuff. But looking back as an older man, he's a creeper! She's a serious babe no doubt. Just kind of of interesting how a beloved show can change for you as time goes by. The age difference wasn't even extreme, not really. But the context of it was definitely not appropriate. And of course they casted a baby faced girl for the role.

Great times! 😂

He taught college though, so she was an adult? They were less triggering times. I always saw him as a nice guy in disguise though. He seemed to bat way above his league in terms of women but always had trouble keeping them.

Joey was worse though.

Comments like this are weird. You realize the characters aren't real right.

reply

Yep, you realise it’s a Tv and movie chat forum right?

reply

I do. But you're talking about the character as if Ross is real. Ross batting out of his league and not being able to keep them are producer led decisions. The goal was always for Ross to end up with Rachel, not being able to hold onto his partners has nothing to do with the morality of the character.

reply

Talking as if characters are real is common, it is simply easier than saying "The character David Schiwmmer plays... or "The character of Ross..." I don't see the big deal. But then a troll will find anything to try and start a fight about.

reply

You're not getting it. I'm not talking about the terminology you used. You were assuming he couldn't hold onto his partners because of the lack of moral integrity of the character when it was actually a producer led decision for the relationships to fail so he could eventually end up with Rachel. Take the L and move on.

reply

Yes my dear I know what you are saying. But doesn’t that make for a boring and limited conversation?

You could apply that approach to any movie or tv show.

Star Wars: The Rebels win because it was written as such. The end.

You must be a hit at parties.

reply

You wouldn't call a woman a creepy perv in the same situation. Legal is legal.

reply

'Legal is legal.'

This is very true.

reply

He was hilarious.

reply

He was the funniest out of the bunch.

reply

She was a college student and he was like 30. Lmao!!!! Like an 8 years difference.

reply

It was only frowned upon back then.
