Which one do you prefer?
Juliette Binoche in Blue or Naomi Watts in 21 grams.

Binoche easily, but Watts is usually a great actress also. But them, Binoche didn't do Mulholland Drive!

Of course Juliette Binoche is the best.She is one of the most talented actresses ever.And there is something really special about her.Ok Naomi Watts's performance was quite good.But Julitte Binoche's performance was brilliant and I dare say it was flawless.She was perfect as always.
two completely different women in two utterly different cultures,responding to the same sorrow in two different manners..i wouldn't choose
shareI cannot say much for 21 Grams. Watts' acting was fine, yet the character was too overblown. Binoche was fortunate to be given a well-crafted role, but then I do have a bias towards Blue. I feel that this is more a question of role than one of acting ability.

I don't even understand why they are compared? They are in different genres of film that require different acting methods.
I'd go for Juliette. Haven't seen 21 Grams but I've seen quite a few Naomi Watts films. Naomi is a good actress. While I don't think Juliette is the most amazing actress in the world, she is a very good actress, a notch above Naomi. Juliette has that very appealing angst in her in the tradition of Jeanne Moreau whom I adore.

I can't believe this! Naomi Watts is so overrated it's unbelievable.It started just because she did Mulholland Drive. Please it was that film that was compelling not so much her acting. And her performance in 21 Grams was awful and ruined the film for me because of her overacting. Benicio Del Toro was the only good performance in that. Juliette Binoche is a million times better as an actress and screen presence than Naomi Watts. ESPECIALLY in Blue. Juliette is such a powerful screen presence and doesn't have to do all that ridiculous overacting that Naomi Watts does to prove she's a great actress.

Like comparing a Stradivarius violin to a cheap juke-box.
They simply are not in the same universe.
I think Blue is the better movie. If you unwind 21 Grams and think of it sequentially, it doesn't hold up as a movie. It's a bit far-fetched to think she join with Sean Penn to get revenge against the careless driver.
However, I cannot say which actress gave the better performance. Both movies were about a life shutting down. One woman attempted total isolation; the other, sank into dispair.
I don't think I've seen a performance by La Binoche that is better than Naomi Watts performance in Mulholland Drive.
well overall i don't know.
But from 21 grams and blue the winner is... naomi watts.
She gave one of the best proformences i have ever seen, it was so realistic and moving. juliette on the other hand was average as sin and could of been much better, most other actresses would of done a better job then juliette in blue
