Most overrated film in history?

I saw this on its release and in spite of Liam Neeson, it has so much to be desired. Dumbed down script, made up dialogue, no subtlety. All makes for a mediocre film that doesn't do justice for such an important topic. And all these issues I lay at the feet of Steven Spielberg. Face it, his only good film was Jaws. Instead I recommend War and Remembrance and Shoah.

What is "made up dialogue" supposed to mean?

Not by a long shot

Would you like it more if Martin Scorsese directed it? He originally wanted to direct it but his agent talked him out of it.

reply

Scorsese would be way wrong for this. Kubrick knew that he was wrong for A.I. and wanted Spielberg to direct. Why? Because Kubrick is too cold and cynical, same with Scorsese.

Sure, Scorsese could make the horrific Nazi stuff sing, but he’d be at a loss with the warm, sentimental and inspiring Schindler story.

It is an amazing movie, timeless!

I’m sure Spielberg cares about the opinion of some pointless internet maggot 🤣

reply

Nope, doesn't care about you at all -p

reply

That’s right, and especially not you and your worthless ‘issues’.

It's top 10 all time in my view. SL is a terrific film. And what the hell is "made up dialogue"? Doesn't every movie have made up dialogue?
