Why didn't Daniel Just Wait.....

So Daniel changes Mirandas Newspaper Ad Number so no one would call....This was 1993 (Probably filmed in 1992 or 1991) There was no internet or smartphones, so she would of just been playing the waiting game until someone called. If Daniel was smart he could of started to clean up his act and show responsibility, after time of no one calling Miranda would of had no choice but to ask Daniel to help. I guess she always could of done another Ade, but if not then maybe this could work.

They would not of gotten back together, but maybe it could of at least given him the opportunity to see his kids daily.

Wouldn't fit the plot...

But honestly, if Miranda placed an ad she would check it to see if was correct and indeed if it was printed at all. Since Daniel started calling immediately, Miranda assumed the ad was correct, but if no one called, she would have checked the ad and seen the phone number was wrong.

Besides, even after Daniel cleaned up his act and was again able to see his kids freely, he and Miranda wouldn't have gotten back together. Miranda fell out of love with the man-boy and moved on.

Did you not see that I litterly wrote.."They would not of gotten back together" I know they would not of. But yea I guess she could of checked on the Ad after no calls, with her busy work schedule idk, would of hoped she did not think of it. But then again she is stubborn so probably would of done ANYTHING to not let Daniel see them.

Because movie plot needed to happen. Which is to put Robin in a fat lady suit for comedy.

People often forget that it's not real life documentary about real even we are watching. Movie has a hook and then writers must make up how characters must get to that hook.

reply

True, but it's fun to talk about what people should do in situations even though it's just a movie.

reply

Very true, it is hard for me at times to watch movies with my ADD because i will always point out the what ifs lol. But yea it is just a movie. I got to stop overthinking.

reply

Yes, exactly. Most of Robin's films were just platforms for his erratic comedy. In this case, putting him in a women's suit and getting him to speak in a Scottish accent. Good Morning Vietnam and Dead Poets Society weren't much different.

reply

Because then the movie would have been called Mr. Boringfire.
