New season

Since the show returns in 2 days, what do u all expect to see or hope to see?

Do u think it's going to "wrap up anything"? Will the series conclude/end?

reply

Probably not since there is only 2 mythology episodes. It will probably end on a cliffhanger, which sucks

reply

It will be hard to tie up that much mythology in a neat little bow but i expect they will try to satisfy the fans with an acceptable conclusion.I doubt that there will be anymore seasons after this given that Gillian Anderson has stated that she's done after this.

reply

Hoping they include a good funny episode like the werewolf one in the last season, and that they also carry on with the ongoing alien arc.

reply

I think episode 4 may be a "funny" one, but that's only if Darin Morgan is going to do another episode like that.

reply

I'm hoping they won't.

reply

Not sure why they don't also have a 'mythology' episode halfway through the season as well. Oh well, I'm happy with another 2, certainly better than none.

reply

I assume they just want to open and close with the mythology, but who knows. I thought there was more of a "demand" for mow episodes and maybe Carter doesn't want to get too carried away with it.

reply

I'm expecting it to ignore everything from the original series, like the last season did, and to ignore everything the last season did, invent a bunch new bullshit, and end on a cliffhanger which will never be resolved, but produce one and a half enjoyable episodes that feel almost like the good old days.

reply

The titles for first five episodes are on IMDb. If you want more, reviews are out. Not too spoilery.

reply

Sounds disappointing. I've never been a fan of the Darin Morgan episodes. Hopefully, the show at least ends on a high note, but doubtful of that at this stage.

reply

meh, we'll see

reply

I just hate the fact smoking man is still *in* this damn franchise. He died 5 times already.. gimme a break
also Skinner looks younger than in the 90s what in the actual fuck? haha

reply

I have lost interest in this series

reply

After 25 some years, I still can't say that Smoking Man is 100% human.

reply

Maybe. but he ain't William's father lol what kinda crap was that?!

reply

Possible just a ruse to fool Skinner, I'm sure we have many more "twists" coming our way yet.

reply

We were thinking that maybe he was only William's father in the sense that he "created" him, not that he's his sperm donor.

reply

I hope your right. I don't like him being William's father.
I also don't appreciate only a few mythology eps. They were always my favorite.
I don't even like this Spartan virus plot. We had a perfectly good viral threat from the original series, the "black oil". Why not stick with that? SMDH

As much as I am saddened by GA saying this is it, I can't say I blame her. If the writing is as bad as this last ep, it makes sense. But honestly, these actors kill me. They become famous then they turn up their noses at the fans. She is supposedly, very stuck up with the fans.

reply

The stand-alone episodes were my favourites, but I didn't mind the mythology episodes in the beginning. My problem was that the mythology became too contrived. I don't like the current storyline either, but only the last episode is going to be another mythology episode apparently.

I've heard the same about Gillian, although I wouldn't know how much of it is true. It's very unfortunate, but she should realize she's only really famous anymore because of The X-files.

reply

Tis true about GA. She does a lot of work in Britain.

reply

That's a shame.
