What Bothered You About This Show?

To be honest, I was never all that crazy about the Warners. In fact they were my least favorite part of this series. All the other segments seemed to be funnier and bring something. The Warners whole schtick was to be annoying but to me they werent funny at all with their purposeful annoyance. They shoulda never let them out that goddamn tower or at least threatened them routinely with some Dip from Roger Rabbit.

"Lemme at 'em! I'll splat 'em!"

What bothered me is that it raised the bar unfathomably high for any who came after.

And the goddamn Mindy and Buttons shorts. Not funny, just sad.

I know this is 6 and a half years late, But here's my picks.

The only 3 bits on Animaniacs that I could sit down for were The Warners, Pinky & the Brain, and Slappy the Squirrel, the rest just weren't funny.

Minerva Mink was OK, But only because she had only 2 original cartoon bits, the rest of the time she made cameos. Moon over Minerva is still one of my favorite bits of animaniacs.

The goodfeathers were funny for their first cartoon (I love the movie goodfellas) but if anything, The Goodfeathers should've been a 1 or 2 episode parody like Minerva, and then it would've been better.

With Buttons and Mindy. I've read a lot of opinions, and it seems no one really liked B&M. The only thing I did like about B&M was the intro for it - a Parody of the TV classic Lassie.

Rita and runt? Only thing I liked about that bit was the fact Runt was a parody of Rain man. Apparently, Rita's voice actress Burnadette Peters was paid a lot of money for her role.

I actually kind of liked Katie Ka-boom. They didn't pay enough attention to her.

Chicken Boo was too repetitive. Every episode was the same thing - Chicken boo would appear in costume, the characters would argue whether he was a chicken or not, and then when it was revealed he was a giant chicken, everyone ran away.

Well, that's my opinion.

In the beginning, the Goodfeathers bothered me. Mindy bothered me as well. As time went by, I was no longer bothered by them. Nothing bothers me about this show now.

You're not alone. It wasn't just that, but the mom was always warning Buttons to not do some thing, and he'd eventually wind up doing it by accident at the end of the sketch and get chewed out for it, despite of all the pain and punishment he already he'd already gone through by then.

I never got around to disliking the Hip Hippos, mostly because their sketches were so rare, so it never got old.

And now for the heresy; I didn't like the Warner brothers either. Apart from the TV news reporter, a lot of their jerk victims weren't even half as jerky as what they did in return, and the transparent Howard Stern parody was even worse because the reason people even listen to jerk radio hosts is because they like the abuse. In fact, it just felt like they were less about punishing jerks and more about wanting to be the only ones allowed to be jerks.

Pesto getting mad and beating up Squit got really old too. I wish that by final episode, Squit would've just told him off (like what happened in the Goodfellas scene they were actually based on), because no one would've expected that and that would've been funny...but nope.

In fact....I think Animaniacs should've been cancelled like two seasons before it actually was. So much of the comedy was getting stale.

Buttons and Mindy drove me insane as a kid. I hated seeing characters get treated unfairly. The Trix commercials where the rabbit is continually denied a bowl of Trix upset me for the same reason.

Also didn't care for the Goodfeathers segments. Even now that I'm older and get the gangster movies those segments are parodying, I still don't find them all that funny.

Remember almost nothing about the hippos or Katie Ka-boom, so I guess they didn't make that much of an impression on me.

How nobody could tell Chicken Boo was a great, big CHICKEN. 😂

The only good thing about this show was Pinky & the Brain. All the other cartoons were just annoying.
