How old were you?

How old was everyone when this show came out? It came out in 1993, so I was 5 (now 19), and living in Richton Park, Illinois. I loved my old town, school and house. Watching Pete and Pete now reminds me of all that.

I'm watching it right now, and I was 7 in 1993.

I remember this episode. The squid and Ellen counting to 1 million and Open Face and stuff.

All I know is my gut says maybe.

I was 16 and in High school when it came out but I remember it coming out in 10th grade. And coincidentally I'm only 2 days older than BIG PETE.

I would of been eight years old.. pretty much loved the hell out of it, and now that I'm older and have downloaded all three seasons I sort of begun to realize what an impact these type of early 90's children shows had on who I am and the way I relate to people in the world (sounds incredibly dorky/nerdy, i know).. I think the 90's were an excellent time for children to grow up in in terms of quality television/entertainment for kids. No doubt. It's pretty much all trash now.

When it first started airing, I was 6. I don't think I watched it until I was older, though. It was probably in reruns by that time. I'm glad at least one classic Nick show is out on DVD now. Even though I didn't watch it that much, I remember it much better than other shows I probably watched a lot more--GUTS, Weenieville, Clarissa Explains It All, What Would You Do?, those shows.

I recently got the first season on DVD. What surprised me was how well it really captured childhood. Unlike most child characters, the kids on this show weren't just miniature adults; they talked and thought about all the same things I used to talk about with my friends, or think to myself. And the whole air of the show--the fashions, the fads, the slang, the sub-par film quality--really brings me back to the early 90s, when this and kindergarten were my whole life. Those were the days.

Oh, no, I'm not tired. But my finger is!

In 1993 I was five years old, though I only started watching Pete & Pete when we first got Nickelodeon in 1995 when I would have been seven. Have been watching a few episodes online recently now aged 19, still as wonderfully weird piece of television as it ever was.

I feel weird about this. I wasn't born when it came out. I was born in 1994. But I remember watching all the reruns and figuring out how weird the show was.
I just bought it and Boy Meets World on DVD because those are my favorite shows. I wish I was ten when it came out to live Pete and Pete.

I remember renting the VHS's of Pete and Pete that had variouse episodes and I rented them so many times my parents had to buy me both season 1 and 2 when it finally came out on DVD.

I was about 15-16 when "Pete & Pete" came out. I used to watch it w/ my little brother & sister, it was like our "thing". I remember making-up excuses to my friends so I could get out of going out on Sat. night to stay home and watch "Snick" w/ them, too, LOL! Ahhh, those were the days, when a teenager could sit down and watch some good, 'ole fashioned Nick w/ younger siblings and everyone was entertained as opposed to now, where watching Nick is mind-numbing, comparable to killing brain cells....

I agree I was the same age as you when pete and pete came out. Actually Big pete was born a few days after me. I am very close in age to him.

between 1993 and 1996 I was 11-14. So I guess it followed me all through middle school. I'm now 25. I think I was the target demographic at the time. but nostalgia keeps me sucked in whenever I rewatch it. I think the humor is so offbeat though and unique at a level that it is still funny to me now.

I turned 8 in 1993. "Pete & Pete" WAS my childhood. I have Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, and every time I watch an episode I get nostalgic.

You're probably the person in the plane who watches when they do the belt bit.

I was 11 in '93. This show was one of my favorites of the 90s. I know think it is probably one of the best shows ever made. It isn't usual for a show to be so intelligent as to appeal to children who would grow up and understand it and love it even more.
