Better than the series

This movie was sooooo much better than the series. I hate how people say the series was better, the original is always better. Luke, Kristy, David, Paul and Donald were all great in it. Oh and I can't forget about Hillary Swank and Ben Affleck.

Finally someone that has got the right opinion!

I wanted to like this movie when I saw it back when I saw it in the theater--blonde cheerleader vs vampires? I was there the day it opened. But....it more than kind of sucked. The idea was good, in a high-concept kind of way. But the director chose to play the story for broad laughs and, apparantly, she had no sense of humor. Every joke fell flat--and on top of that, nothing was scary either. The first season of the TV show corrected both these problems, though in my opinion it soon jumped the shark as it began to become more and more serialized. And though SMGellar is no Streep, she is much better with a quip than Kristy Swanson was.

Spoken like a true person who's never seen the show.

Always-Severus Snape

I agree. Totally.

Highlarious. The series went way to serious.

I couldn't disagree more. In no way is the movie better than the series. I mean, I enjoyed the movie when it was first released, but come on, there really is no comparrison. I am thankful however that it got screwed up so much, as if it hadn't we might not have ended up with 7 great years of the Series. I mean, if Joss had of been happy with the movie, I'm sure he would have just moved on to other things.
And sarah michelle geller is a way better buffy, but she should be, she had seven years to perfect it. She wasn't that great in the pilot, i've seen it, and it was pretty shoddy, but I think now she definately has a body of work in BTVS that she can be proud of. Where has kristy swanson has what? some memories of her time on the ice? she has done nothing of note since, and for good reason. She may be able to say the lines, and she deliver the occasional one ok, but she is less than average! She belonged on Baywatch with pammy and the hoff if you ask me!

I agree the series is not as good as the movie. Perhaps they are too different entities with the same name.

I agree. This was the original. And I love the campy comedic feel of it. And Paul reubens, too...he was great.

^Agreed xD
And let's just say...this is rated 5.3 and the series is rated 8.6
Case closed; the series is better

We run like vampires from a thousand burning suns.

Without the movie, there would be no buffy series.
