If you took out the sex scenes ...

is there anything worthwhile in this movie, anything that hasn't been done better elsewhere?

reply

I think it has a good cast (I love Michael Douglas), good pacing, and a memorable score. I consider it a strong '90s crime movie. The sexual aspect is overhyped since there aren't really that many sex scenes.

I thought it was a good crime thriller even without the sex scenes. Sharon Stone played the seductive role well though the nudity and sex scenes do add to that. The famous leg crossing scene with the cops sweating like teenagers while they interview her was quite hilarious.

reply

It’s still a good film. Better than most of the crap they put out now.

reply

Better than all the Rip-off films that followed it, like the God-awful "Body of Evidence"😱

reply

Don't forget "Jade" 🤢

reply

I recall thinking that was an ok film but I was watching heaps of those types of thrillers at the time. They were reliable entertainment if not always amazing films.

reply

Still haven't seen that one. Madonna would be the first red flag!

reply

it is actually well done, and entertaining. i admit i was surprised. i think i even posted about it a while back. my rec would be give it a fair chance, you may be surprised. plus willem dafoe is always good.

Pretty much anythings better than the crap they out out now (MCU 🤢)

reply

The MCU thing really needs to end, I think they are auto pilot with that now.

Actually, the sex scenes are completely unnecessary. They don't add any particular tension or suspense to the movie, imho. It could have been done without them but the producers thought that the movie could gross more if Sharon Stone showed her vagina. Hence the gratuitous sex scenes in the movie.

reply

Think you meant vulva.

reply

whatever..

reply

She didn't show her vagina in the sex scenes though, right?

reply

No one knows. Everyone just watches this for the sex scenes
