Don't get me wrong, I really like this movie, but do you think sometime in the future, they will ever remake this movie and make it closer to the book?

Yea I'd say remake it but switch the genders. Make it so a black guy is running from his crazy white abusive wife

Swapping race and genders is always a great idea. Films should always be as inclusive as possible and check off as many DEI boxes as possible. That should take priority over everything.
