Embarrsingly Bad

I mean this is utter sgite. How the fuvk did this crap get any backing. Costner - well he's just a shitstorm as always with his head permanently up his erse. But Freeman?? you'd think the dick would have more sense than to have anything to do with this pile of crap. Every scene is terrible. Contrived bollox, forced bad acting. A pitbull ugly looking Marion, the fight scenes are pathetic as is Freemans face pulling when Costner recieves a whack. I would rather masterbate over my dead mother inlaw than watch this waste of time again.... Freeman...... shakes head, you are a fecking looser in this big time.

It's glaring that nothing bad was stated about Alan Rickman, who was the reason to watch the movie.

reply

"cos it'll hurt more!" is all i remember from this movie.

I couldn't disagree more. I like this movie. Now the goofy Disney one where everyone's an animal, that's less good than this.

reply

Gotta disagree there. The Disney version is a classic.

reply

Sorry. You have the right to like it. I prefer the Disney movies Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, and Pinochio.

reply

I disagree, it’s not a great film by any means but it’s charming and is the best Robin Hood movie to date.

reply

The best Robin Hood movie, ever, is "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (1938) starring Errol Flynn, Alan Hale, Basil Rathbone, Claude Rains, and Olivia de Havilland. No other version comes within a million miles of it, especially the Costner disaster.

It's got some things going for it such as any scene with Little John is pretty good, especially the stick fight in the river rapids which was cool.

Rickman was hamming it up but he makes it work and is fun to watch, but his witch mother didn't work nor did the fat guy character. Also, a black moor in medieval england would not be accepted by everyone in the film, they'd be terrified of him.

It got complaints at the time for being too dark and violent which is true, it's a depressing looking movie at times but it's an entertaining piece of early 90s cinema.
