Is this the best sub movie ever?

I am a total sucker for all movies about subs and I have pretty much seen them all. This is the only one I want to go back and rewatch over and over. Of course all credit due to Das Boot my second favorite and an excellent sub film in its own way but it does not have the rewatchability factor that THFRO has.

I differentiate between “best” and “favorite,” and this and Crimson Tide are definitely favorites. Another not yet mentioned:

Murphy’s War (1971) - awesome film that prominently features a sub

"Run Silent, Run Deep" (in spite of the fact that Gable, and even Lancaster, are far too old) and "Crimson Tide" are the best sub movies.

The Anthem of the Soviet Union during the opening credits is just brilliant and the rest of the movie is even better. Das Boot is just a little bit less brilliant than Red October.
