Nowadays there's a totally different atmosphere surrounding this type of thing. Social media in particular opens your eyes to the mindset that many non-whites in the west have. It's not cool or charming, it's tiresome and disgusting.
It also reveals that the concept of "forgive and forget about the past," and seeing society as "colorless" were only messages given to white people. Nobody else got those messages and are now even more racist and hateful than the white population is today.

shareYou have to remember that when this show was made, there were fewer blacks on tv and they didn't have as much a chance to tell their story. Will was saying what black people were saying about white people. So maybe it wasn't all pretty and maybe it was racist, but it may have been real. So? I have white privilege. I can take it. 🤣
shareI don't think I can agree with this. There's been copious amounts of black representation on TV since the 1970's. Norman Lear alone made it a cottage industry to have black programming.
Actually, I think they 'told their story' (as you put it) better during the 1970's, I think that was about as real as it has ever been with Good Times and Whats Happening? It was Cosby and Fresh Prince that was fake as fuck.
Oh, I agree with you that Cosby and Fresh Prince were unrealistic whitewashes. I'm just saying as a white man who's comfortable in my own skin, it doesn't bother me if blacks wanna bitch and moan about white people.

It seems to bother a lot of white people , I suspect its the ones who are upset that their racism is no longer allowed and they dont like that blacks are no longer second class citizens made to sit at the back of the bus.
and then if the Fresh Prince jokes "white people cant dance" they somehow see this as being oppressed the same way blacks used to be and start yelling about double standards and its not fair and why cant we call then N*****s anymore?

Diversity is pushed on our countries because the third world lacks the ability to build functioning societies. They'll give you excuses like colonialism but if the Japanese could rebuild their nation into a superpower after it got nuked twice then africa and the middle east could certainly build something worthwhile for themselves.

And it's true. Most third world countries just do not know how to do anything but turn into despotic banana republics with lax laws and rampant organized crime.

The Japanese were only able to rebuild because America did a similar thing to the Berlin Airlift where they went in and helped to rebuild the place (with military personnel to keep an eye on anyone plotting to take over the world again) for a few years, so that the Japanese wouldn't do the same thing Germany did after WWI and have cause to start another war 10 years down the line. After a few years, the Japanese were able to take the reigns, but we still have military bases in parts of Japan and Germany to this day. The later generations chose to put WWII behind them and and we became allies.
My point regarding Japan was to do with leftists thinking that if the west bombs somewhere in the third world, then that leaves their people no option but to abandon their homelands and flood our countries en masse. If you can drop nuclear bombs on Japan and they all stick around, then muslims etc can do the same.
Similar with colonialism. They think Europe owes the third world something, but that doesn't make sense when you look at countries like Ireland who had no involvement in taking resources, yet Irish people are currently protesting mass third world immigration and the subsequent destruction of the culture.
It's all the same excuses.
