Favorite scene?

I just watched the movie, and I just encountered one of the funniest scenes in movie history! @ 1:01:56, the hotel guy (the one in the uniform, with that stupid hat, which makes him look like a "damn mosquito-legged chimpanzee"), so that guy just smashes down on the plastic fly with that fly-swatter. That was so random, I can't help but laugh... You must check out that scene, it's hilarious!!!

Feel free to add your favorite scenes from the movie by the way...

When Mitsuko gives the plum to the bellboy and goes "This prum from Japan!" and they both say "Thank you!" at the same time.
Also, in the same scene: Jun taking photos of the hotel room because it isn't memorable.

I started this thread 3 years ago... Amazing!

Keep 'em coming, guys!

I thought it was funny when Mizutko asked Jun if he thought he was wearing too much lipstick. that was funny.

I loved so many parts mentioned already - the lipstick, the plum, My name is Dave, Jun taking pictures of the room, every part with Jay and the bellboy, I could go on...

I also really like Mitsuko's book of things that look like Elvis

and the set up of the shot the next morning when they are on either side of the suitcase

Any of the scenes featuring the hotel clerks are quite hilarious. Couldn't stop laughing.

louisa doesn't get much love on this thread: the waking up scene after seeing the ghost was priceless.

I have posted a video of one of my favorite scenes, along with a quick comment on the film itself at my film review blog, reelpowerfulcinema.blogspot.com. "Mystery Train" is the most recent one as of 3/13/11. Sorry for the shameless promotion.

"did you crash the car?" 'no' "did you raise the dead?" 'yea' "but the cars ok?"

I agree with many of the scenes being mentioned.

But one I liked alot too is when Mitsuko and Jun are arguing about Elvis and Carl Perkins in front of the Elvis statue. At the end Mitsuko asks for "tobacco", Jun offers the cigarette, she nudges him, they kiss and exchange the smoke at the same time. I thought that was amazingly-well executed, very erotic, and spoke volumes about how they feel for each other.

Another scene I found comical was the Italian woman at the magazine stand, ending up buying an armload of magazine, no doubt just so she could get the heck out of there.

Wow, I opened this thread in 2005, and it's still going. Just wow

Any scene with Youki Kudoh. What a funny and sexy actress!

I thought the same, then was shocked to learn she was only seventeen when she filmed that sex scene!

I don't think I've seen this since it originally came out, but I still remember Steve Buscemi in the truck after Johnny comes running out of the liquor store after murdering the clerk. Buscemi says, "What is wrong with you?" I don't know...I just think that's hilarious.

I also liked the way the Italian woman told Cinque Lee, "I like your leetle hat."

Buscemi's delivery in this film really got me in a lot of his lines, not sure why.
"You shot me. You're not even my brother, and now you've shot me!" or whatever really killed me, though.

That or anything Screamin' Jay Hawkins said or did.
That guy, man. None other like him.
