Can people recommend other good sci-fi movies
Hi there all,
Just would like a list of other good sci-fi movies like this.
Things such as:
The Thing
Tremors
etc etc
Really love this era of Sci-Fi and want to get some new films.

Escape From The Planet of The Apes (1971): It's actually pretty good. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The chimp characters are well written and I got involved with their fates. It raises many interesting ideas and doesn't make the mistakes that so many sequels make. It's a worthy companion to the original film and doesn't disgrace it.
shareOutland (1981)
Stars Sean Connery. It's technically a sci-fi film, but probably fits better in the thriller genre. Features the same claustrophic environments as Leviathan and similar films, but it is not a creature feature. Movie is much scarier, better produced, and has nice pacing as the story gets revealed. You really can't beat the iconic death scenes in this film. I believe one of these is how the film opens if I remember correctly.
I recommend:
-Dark City
-The 5th Element
-The Fly
-Dune miniseries (2000)
-Children of Dune (2003)
-Robocop
-Starship Troopers
-Resident Evil
-Underworld
-Interview with the Vampire
-Alien
-Aliens
-Captain America: The First Avenger
-Excalibur
-Mists of Avalon
-Invasion of the Body Snatchers
-Existenz
-Scanners
-Prometheus
-The Exorcist
-The Descent
-The 13th Floor
-The Mist
-Stargate
-Predator
-Dreamcatcher
-Signs
-Ravenous
-Village of the Damned (1995)
-Mary Shelly's Frankenstein
-Terminator
-Terminator 2
-Bram Stoker's Dracula
-The Matrix
-Moon
-Firestarter
-Species
-Evil Dead (2013)
-Army of Darkness
-Battle Royale
-Gravity
-Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1931)
-Thinner
-Total Recall (1990)
PS. I would recommend Jaws if you could see it with 1980's eyes. I would also recommend Event Horizon as it scared me a lot when I saw it in the theaters but now, it doesn't have the same impact anymore.

Can anyone remember the name of a horror film for me? When I watch movies like Leviathan it reminds me of this one film where there is this mad scientist where he is trying to control creatures or something of that sort. His assistant is some female scientist were she goes undercover with this group of people. A sea creature is attacking this group in a house and turns out that the creature is biologically a brother of the main character in the group. Also the female assistant undercover ends up turning into her true self, a sea creature. She forms gills on her legs and the side of her face. After her medicine or whatever runs out she partially transforms as describes above and then dies. I believe it was made in the early 90s and I think the title begins with an E or maybe a D. I just can't remember, it's on the tip of my tongue! >_<
shareSomeone helped me out. The name was The Kindred! ^_^
shareSurprised a couple of people preferred Deep Rising to this. The acting alone is So much better here (Weller, Crenna, Hudson, Stern, the smoking-hot Pays). In Deep Rising we get . . . Treat Williams.
Also, at least they designed and built a real monster here instead of Deep Rising's laughable CGI blob.
Leviathan all the way.
Surprised no one mentioned Split Second (1992), a great Rutger Hauer movie with a Venom lookalike.
shareA lot of good movies here, some a little off topic I think. I'm surprised nobody mentioned the 1980 "The Fog".
shareDavid Cronenberg's 1986 remake of The Fly isn't very similar but it is a Sci-Fi Horror hybrid with a very strong Body Horror element. Highly recommended!

Miracle Mile
Not sure what category this belongs in actually, but it scared the bejeebers out of me.
Thank you everybody love the suggestions
