what if Crossover team-up movies were a thing

McClane, Riggs, and Murtaugh team up in a two-movie crossover event what if things like that could happen or something easier, two action franchises that aren't known to be in a shared universe like Dc or Marvel.

Hmmm that’d work. Maybe they follow a case to SF where they get assistance from rogue cop facing retirement, Harry Callahan.

I think it would be just too...gimmicky. Each of those movies worked well because of the specific worlds created around the characters, their surroundings, etc. The movies already push the boundaries of believability based on the over-the-top situations, stories and action. If you take one over-the-top franchise (and bigger than life personalities) and try to ram-rod them into the universe of ANOTHER over-the-top franchise.......it just becomes too much. Almost kinda desperate, like when Chicago Fire.....meets Chicago Med....meets Chicago PD. It's gimmicky. Whenever they do that, I always find myself thinking: "Just give me one full episode of each brand...and stop trying to blend them all into one big, messy mish-mash."

I mean....what would be next....Riggs and Murtaugh meet Tango & Cash? LOL

Should have been real, they should have tried to re-write the Diehard with a Vengence script to be this cross-over.

it would have worked.

I would figure that we could inevitably get a Commando-Die Hard mash-up since it has long been rumored that Die Hard originally started off as a sequel to Commando with Arnold Schwarzenegger's John Matrix taking on terrorists in a LA high rise instead Bruce Willis' John McClane.
