Jaws 4 is entertaining despite not being very good. I think it's because it has some key things that make any film watchable - fast pacing & action, melodic score and some decent actors (Michael Caine, Lorraine Gary). The opening scene in a wintry Amity Island is pretty effective and chilling.
I prefer this film over The Meg and other recent shark films, but the best made shark films are Jaws, Jaws 2 and Deep Blue Sea. Those three are the gold standard of shark movies.
You prefer a shark movie where you can see the fucking Hydraulics underneath the shark when it comes out of the water like in JAWS THE REVENGE over The MEG?? Your taste flat out sucks
