Has it ever made you laugh?

..And no, not when Papouli died or when Michelle fell off the Horse (although the latter was pretty funny since the little b*tch should've broken her neck) but even though Full House was a lame show, was there ever a moment that gave you a legit laugh?

Don't get me wrong, I used to like Full House when I was younger, but then I grew up. Not to mention, after reading 'Full House Reviewed' and the countless threads here, I realize that Full House (especially in the later seasons when it's all about that b*tch Michelle) is not a good show.

Getting back to it, there is one moment that does make me laugh. It was from the first Season (when Michelle was at her best because she was an infant and Stephanie wasn't thrown to the background) and the episode was when Joey realized he sucks at Comedy so he quits. Then Jesse steals his act and butchers it to get him back into Comedy.

Here's the scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agRlbD8OKmA

So there. Are there any moments that actually made you laugh?

Yes, I actually think most episodes have a moment that’ll crack me up. Yes, it’s lame but if you were born in the 80’s and grew up with the show it’s nostalgic af. Kimmy always cracked me up.

Aside from the obvious, unintentionally hilarious “very special episodes” like Michelle falling off the horse and Papooli dying..

Michelle asking Urkel why he talks like Mickey Mouse

Kimmy Gibbler’s giant mutant ostrich that wanted to eat Uncle Jesse.

Gibbler drunk in leopard print at a keg party.

Any jokes degrading Gibbler to subhuman status like “Kimmy, your parents won’t even let you use a fork.”

Probably more, i havent rewatched it in 2 decades

I thought it was funny when DJ had an eating disorder

I thought it was funny when Becky's cousins came in to tell Jesse what a loser he was

I thought it was funny when Joey got booed off the stage

I thought it was funny when Michelle fell off her bike

reply

How is any of that funny? Yes, it is maybe hard for some people to take a cheesy show like "Full House" seriously. But in real life, it is not unheard of that an eating disorder leads to death. And a kid falling off a bike can also lead to injuries in real life.

reply

Because these characters are annoying, it’s fun watching them suffer. Also they aren’t real so I can say whatever I want about them

reply

Come back if your own teenage daughter developes an eating disorder, or if your own little kid falls off a bike and has an injury. Because then you'll be so sorry that you ever found it funny that fictional characters went through it, even if you find them annoying now.

reply

So would you apply the same logic to Hans Gruber in Die Hard? You know people really do fall out of buildings and die. How about Vic Vega in Reservoir Dogs? You know if your kid were shot six times in the chest you wouldn’t think it was so great. How about the T1000? People really do get stuck in liquid nitrogen then fall into a pool of molten steel.

Imaginary vs real, learn the difference kid

reply

Actually, fiction will often mirror real life. Like when "Full House" had DJ only eat ice to lose weight, even if that was only during that one episode, they were dealing with a problem, that is very real to many people. Yet again, it is very possible that having an eating disorder can lead to an early death. So if that is a laughing matter to you, the problem is not with this show or with the characters.

So then it’s wrong to be happy when Mr Blonde died right?

reply

Well, I have not seen that movie. But I guess not, because villains are a breed of their own. Even so, it is more likely to be a cause for relief than for laughter when they die.

reply

Sometimes the antics of the three male leads could be funny. Not often, but it has happened.

reply

Only when I was a kid. After a while, I got bored with the show and quit watching after age 12.

reply

The only part that I even got a chuckle out of was when Jesses band didn’t show up and the family takes their places and they get booed off the stage

reply

I liked a lot of Dave Coulier's comedy in the show. It's cheesy but fun.
